Pacer freshmen continue stellar year

The Switzerland County Pacer freshman basketball team upped its overall record to 14-1 on Tuesday night with a 49-16 beating of South Ripley.

Trevor Smith led all scorers with 17 points, and also had eight assists, four rebounds, and three steals.

Alex Curran was also in double figures with 14 points, and chipped in nine rebounds and three steals in the effort.

Alex Galbreath had nine points and four rebounds; Clint Swanson added five points and five rebounds; and Nelson Hughes and Averi Fultz each contributed two points to the win.

“We had a season-high with 17 assists,” Coach Sean McGarvey said. “I thought we played unselfishly throughout the entire game.”

The Pacers now head into the ORVC tournament, where they will take on South Ripley in the opening round this Monday, at 5 p.m.

The game will be played at Madison Shawe High School.
