Pacer diamondmen post two victories

The Switzerland County High School baseball team opened up conference play with two wins last week.

Last Thursday, the Pacers defeated Milan 3-0 behind Zach Osowski’s complete game shutout. Zach Osowski struck out nine in the contest, while allowing only four walks.

Offensively, Danny Schira had a double and Caleb McClellan scored two runs.

On Friday, Switzerland County came back to defeat Madison Shawe by an 8-1 count.

Tyler Johnson picked up his first career victory on the mound, going six innings and striking out 12.

At the plate, Zach Osowski had two hits, including a triple, and also had three RBI.

“Our pitching was outstanding,” Coach Shannon Barger said. “We gave up one run and struck out 23 in 14 innings of play. It was a great way to begin conference play.”

Switzerland County looks to push its conference record to 3-0 when the Pacers travel to South Ripley tomorrow (Friday).
