Betty Adams
Betty Jean (Otter) Adams, 69, of Vevay, passed away Tuesday, June 3rd, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.
She was born January 21st, 1939, in Switzerland County, the daughter of Royland A. “Roll” and Daisy (McFarland) Otter, who both preceded her in death. She was raised in Switzerland County.
She was united in marriage to Clyde Skirvin. Unto this union a son arrived to bless their home. She was later united in marriage to Arthur B. “Art” Adams. Unto this union a son and a daughter arrived to bless their home. Her husbands preceded her in death.
She was employed in the food service department of Madison State Hospital from 1984-2001. She was formerly employed at Swiss Villa Living Center, Switzerland County High School and U.S. Shoe Corporation in Vevay and Madison. She will be remembered for her love of cooking and the wonderful meals she prepared. She also enjoyed sewing and gardening and her grandchildren were her pride and joy. She attended Spring Branch Baptist Church and was an avid collector of breast pins.
Survivors include her sons, Tom Skirvin and wife Melissa and George Adams and wife Connie, all of Vevay; her daughter, Belinda Swanson of Vevay; her grandchildren, Stephanie, Kristen, George, Kevin, Clint, Angela, Lori, Valarie and Ryan; her great-grandchildren, Kailee, Jocelyn, Macy, Madison, Cooper, Trentin and Sebastian; her sisters, Margaret Turner of Florence and Anna Ruth Holdcroft of Lamb; her half sister, Patty Kay Otter of Carrollton, Kentucky; her nieces, Teresa, Tammy and Ginger; and her nephews, Stanley and Jamie.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, June 7th, by Reverend Rick Daugherty at Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home in Vevay. Burial was in Vevay Cemetery. Donna Justice
Donna Jean Justice, 57, of Sunman, passed away Saturday, June 7th, at her home.
She was born August 28th, 1950, in Lawrenceburg, the daughter of Paul Robert “Bob” and Dolores Jean (Stephens) Wadsworth. She was a graduate of Rising Sun High School, Class of 1968. She was group sales manager for Argosy Casino in Lawrenceburg. She had also worked for Siekman-Sterns Insurance.
Survivors include her son, Jim Justice of Fishers, Indiana; her son-in-law, Chris Sheets of Aurora; her sister, Diane Fuchs and husband Jim of Lawrenceburg; her grandson, Lucas Sheets of Aurora; her nieces, Becky Dilts and Sarah Fuchs; and her nephews, Ben Lamkin and Nathan Fuchs.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Deidre Renee Justice; and her sisters, Vicki Lamkin and Teri Wadsworth.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, June 11th, by Pastor Mike Jones at Markland Funeral Home in Rising Sun. Burial was in Riverview Cemetery in Aurora. Memorial contributions may be made to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Condolences may be expressed at www.marklandfuneralhome.com.
Shirley Gregory
Shirley (Bittle) Gregory, 76, of near Florence passed away at 7:55 p.m. Tuesday evening, June 10th, at the BHNE Hospice Unit in La Grange, Kentucky.
