Jeffrey Heffelmire
Jeffrey Lynn “Jeff” Heffelmire, 46, of near Vevay, passed away Tuesday, August 8th, at Indiana University Hospital in Indianapolis.
He was born June 12th, 1960, in Dearborn County, the son of John and Mildred “Mickey” (Jeffries) Heffelmire. He was raised in Dillsboro and was a 1978 graduate of South Dearborn High School. He was a 1983 graduate of Purdue University School of Pharmacy.
He was united in marriage to Darla Sue Parnell on June 25th, 1988, in Switzerland County. Unto this union two daughters, a stepdaughter and a stepson arrived to bless their home.
He was employed by CVS Pharmacy in Vevay from 1983-1995. He was employed as a pharmacist with Wal-Mart in Corydon from 1995 until he passed away. He was a member of the Switzerland County Community Church in Vevay. He and his wife operated the Heart of Compassion Outreach Ministry through their church in Vevay. He enjoyed his church, his family and his work as a pharmacist.
Survivors include his wife, Darla Sue (Parnell) Heffelmire of Vevay; his daughters, Brittany Heffelmire and Bethany Heffelmire, both of Vevay; his stepdaughter, Bridgett Miller Shaver of Vevay; his stepson, Brandon Miller of Vevay; his grandchildren, Brooke and Summer Dickerson; his mother, Mildred “Mickey” Heffelmire of Rising Sun; his brothers, Mike Heffelmire of Dillsboro, Steve Heffelmire of Lawrenceburg and Larry Heffelmire of Aurora; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Heffelmire.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, August 12th, by Reverend Charles Dayadharum at Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home in Vevay. Burial was in Vevay Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Switzerland County Community Church Building Fund.
