Lucy Carrico
Lucy Irene Spalding Carrico, 98, of Indianapolis, formerly of Mount Sterling, passed away Monday, September 25th.
She was born September 21st, 1908, in Bloomfield, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Thomas and Lottie Spalding. She was a homemaker and a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church. She formerly resided in Mount Sterling for 25 years and was a former member of Sorrowful Mother of God Catholic Church in Vevay.
Survivors include her children, John E., Joseph V., and Wilbur F. Carrico, Dotti Manis, Mary Ann Harris, Lou St. John and Sue Flick; her brother, Robert Spalding; her sister, Ruby Cantrell; 33 grandchildren; 67 great-grandchildren; and 24 great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Carrico; and her daughter, Bonnie Hazel.
Funeral mass was said Friday, September 29th, in Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Indianapolis. Little & Sons Beech Grove Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
Ronald Ferry
Ronald Robert Ferry, 29, of Rising Sun, passed away at his home Friday, October 27th.
He was born December 29th, 1976, the son of Ronald and Phyllis Eversman Ferry. He was a self-employed contractor. He attended school at Rising Sun and later earned his GED.
Survivors include his parents, Greg and Phyllis Woodruff; his son, Issac Kayne Elza; and his daughter, Kendra Elza; his sisters, Heather and Tiffany Woodruff; several aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives.
Funeral services were conducted by Reverend Troy Whitham Tuesday, October 31st, at Humphrey-Taylor-Detmer Funeral Home in Rising Sun. Burial was in Mt. Carmel Cemetery near his father, Ronald Ferry; and grandparents, David and Carolyn Ferry, who preceded him in death. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
Ronald Potter
Ronald Lee Potter, 55, of Rising Sun, passed away Wednesday, October 25th, at Mercy Hospital – Fairfield in Fairfield, Ohio.
He was born October 26th, 1950, in Milan, the son of Orson and Hilda Marie (Bailey) Potter. He was a graduate of Rising Sun High School, Class of 1968, and earned his BSM from Purdue University in 1976. He was baptized July 29th, 1962, and was a member of Pleasant Ridge Church of Christ where he served as a deacon. He was a government records supervisor for Jim Beam Brands, Inc., in Cincinnati. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
On August 11th, 1979, he married Sissy Lamkin, who survives.
Other survivors include his father, Orson Potter of Rising Sun; his son, Robby Potter of Rising Sun; his daughter, Katie Potter of Rising Sun; his brother, Donald Potter and wife Gail of Odessa, Texas; his mother-in-law, Velma Lamkin of Rising Sun; his brothers-in-law, Clayton Lamkin and wife Dorinda and Bob Lamkin and wife Heidi, all of Rising Sun, Jerry Lamkin and wife Missy of Beatrice, New Brunswick, Canada, and Jim Lamkin and wife Jeanne of Virginia; his sisters-in-law, Cathy Droege and husband Butch of Aurora and Jeanie Moore and husband Tom of Indianapolis; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, October 28th, by Brother Don Campbell at Pleasant Ridge Church of Christ in Rising Sun. Burial was in Rising Sun New Cemetery. Markland Funeral Home of Rising Sun was in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the Pleasant Ridge Church of Christ, Nursing Home Fund.
