Frederick ‘Fritz’ Korn
Frederick Joseph “Fritz” Korn, age 83, of Rising Sun, passed away at 6:02 a.m. on Tuesday, May 15th, 2018 at his residence.
He was born in Lawrenceburg, Indiana on April 28th, 1935, the youngest of three children born to the late, Frederick Wilhelm and Anna Marie (Singer) Korn. Fritz was a 1953 graduate of the Lawrenceburg High School in Lawrenceburg, Indiana. Fritz loved sports and excelled as an athlete in baseball, basketball and football at Lawrenceburg High School.
Fritz was united in marriage on January 19th, 1957, in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, to Sandra Jean Runyon and they shared 26 years of marriage together. Fritz was later united in marriage on March 21st, 1985, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Judith Naegele Brigel. Fritz and Judith shared nearly 32 years of marriage together until she passed away on December 20th, 2017.
He was employed for 36 years as a pipe fitter/welder for the Proctor and Gamble Company in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Fritz’s mother was Hungarian and his father was German. They migrated from Havana, Cuba and settled in Lawrenceburg, Indiana. He was an avid reader and enjoyed working the daily crossword puzzles. Fritz was known for his unwavering work ethic. He spent and enjoyed his retirement hunting, fishing, and working on numerous projects on his farm.
He and his wife Judy were members of the Most Sorrowful Mother of God Catholic Church and attended services there regularly. The last years of his life were spent in his home devotedly caring for his wife, Judy.
Fritz is survived by his sons: Mark Eric Korn and his wife Julie, Mike Erron Korn and his wife Bridget, Mitchell Ellis Korn, Martin Eugene Korn and his wife Jacqueline, Matthew Erroll Korn, and C. Thomas Naegele; by his daughter, Monica Ellen Dimuzio and her husband Mark; and by his grandchildren: Michelle Sullivan, Jenna Korn, Kennedy Scott (Jody), Jordan Hurley, Kaden Korn, Gabi Naegele and Lillian Korn.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frederick Wilhelm and Anna Marie (Singer) Korn; his wife, Judith Naegele (Brigel) Korn, who died on December 20th, 2017; his brother, Karl Korn; and his sister, Ann Doles.
Memorial services will be conducted on Saturday, June 9th, 2018, at 11 a.m., by Father Christopher Craig, at the Most Sorrowful Mother of God Catholic Church, 513 North Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana, 47043. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the beginning of the services on Saturday, June 9th, at the church.
The family requests memorial donations to charity of the donor’s choice. Cards are available at the funeral home and church. Haskell and Morrison Funeral Home in Vevay is assisting the family at this difficult time.
Lloyd Reuter
Lloyd T. Reuter, 78, of Cross Plains passed away Tuesday, May 29th, 2018 at his home.
He was born at Vevay on November 14th, 1939 the son of Lester Reuter and Juanita Trinkle McIntire.
He was married to Charlotte Elston, and she preceded him in death on November 9th, 1999.
Lloyd was a 1958 graduate of Vevay High School. He was retired from the Indiana State Highway in Versailles. Lloyd was a member of the Cross Plains Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son: Tom (Maria) Reuter of Holton, Indiana; two granddaughters: Ciera and Brianna Reuter; one brother: Leslie Reuter of Pleasant; two sisters: Ruthie (Arnold) Curry of Hanover and Jo Ann (Butch) Gullion of Mt. Sterling, Indiana.
Funeral services were held on Friday, June 1st, at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles, with Reverend Scott Elston officiating. Burial was in the Grandview Memorial Garden in Madison. Visitation was held on Thursday, May 31st, at the funeral home.
Memorials may be given to the Cross Plains Baptist Church in care of the funeral home.
Clyde ‘Wayne’ Dawson
Clyde “Wayne” Dawson, age 70, of Vevay, went to be with his Lord and Savior at 11:46 p.m. on Sunday, June 3rd, 2018, at his residence.
Wayne entered this life on April 22, 1948, in McCrory, Arkansas, the loving son of the late Clyde Melvin and Zilpha Mae (Reeves) Dawson. He was raised in McCrory, Arkansas and later moved to Fortville, Indiana, where he attended Mount Vernon High School.
Wayne was united in marriage to the love of his life on December 9th, 1967, in Mohawk, Indiana, to Sandra Marie Cecil, and to this union arrived three daughters: Deborah, Shelley and Tina to bless their home. Wayne and Sandy shared 50 years of marriage together until he went to be with his Lord and Savior.
Wayne was employed for Emge Meat Packing Plant in Anderson, Indiana, for six years; and for Aurora Casket Company for 10 years. He was a farmhand for North Bend Farms in Patriot, and was a self-employed masonry bricklayer most all of his life.
He resided in the Patriot community for 30 years and then moved to the Vevay community, where he resided until his passing.
Wayne was a member of Patriot Baptist Church in Patriot. Wayne enjoyed fishing, hosting his annual 4th of July fish fry party, crafts, woodworking, watching and feeding birds and squirrels and spending time with his grandkids. Most of all, Wayne will be remembered for his love of the “aggravation game” as he would call it, where he loved to pick on anyone in general! Wayne will be deeply missed by his heartbroken family, friends and his community.
Wayne is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Sandra Marie “Sandy” (Cecil) Dawson of Vevay; his daughters: Deborah Lay and her husband Rich of East Enterprise, Shelley Gray and her husband Greyson of Napoleon, Indiana, and Tina Thomas and her husband Harold of Vevay; by his grandchildren, Tony Rider, Heather Thomas, Chelsea Reagan, Nathan Rider, Halie Gault, Harold Thomas, Richie Lay, Aleiah Thomas, Daisha Lay, Jalee Rider, Shelbie Lay, Scout Gray, Collin Lay, Ty Ragsdale, Makiah Peery and Sallee Johns; and by his great-grandchildren: Kyler Reagan, Preston Rider, Linkon Gault, Kambrie Lay and Lukas Gault.
He will also be dearly missed by his brothers and sisters: Dean Roberts and his wife Corrine of Greenfield, Indiana, Walter Lee Dawson and his wife Debbie of Fortville, Indiana, Lynda McKenzie and her husband Robert “Hardly” of Vevay, Pam Minch of Vevay, Melvin Lynn Dawson and his wife Patty of Wisconsin, Herb Dawson and his wife Dorothy of Madison; by his sisters-in-law: Rosann Kerr and her husband Alfred of Roanoke, Virginia and Patty Banschbach of Anderson, Indiana; and his numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Clyde Melvin and Zilpha Mae (Reeves) Dawson; by his brothers: Lewis Roberts, Jr. and Dwight Dawson; by his sister, Sue Bowens; and one infant sister; by nephews Timmy Dawson and Jeff Minch; and by his brothers-in-law: Ronald Lee “Ronnie” Minch and Bobby Dean Minch.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, June 7th, 2018, at 1 p.m. by Reverend Mike Jones at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street Vevay, Indiana, 47043. Friends are invited to call on the family on Thursday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
