Clifford Eugene Jones, age 74, of Aurora, Indiana, passed away at 10:51 p.m. on Monday, June 12th, 2017, at his residence.
Clifford entered this life on July 11th, 1942, in Patriot, the loving son of the late Henry Jones and Lena (Perkins) Jones-Manford. He was raised in Patriot, where he attended school.
Clifford was united in marriage on September 5th, 1966, in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, to Nancy Lavon Miller; and to this union arrived seven children to bless their home. Clifford and Nancy shared nearly 51 years of marriage together until his death.
Clifford was employed as a trackman for CSX Railroad in Aurora, retiring in December 2000, after one and a half years of service. He was formerly employed for B&O for 33 years. He enjoyed his newspaper routes delivering the Cincinnati Enquirer for 25 years. Clifford was a former member of the Switzerland Baptist Church in Vevay.
He was affectionately known as the ‘Conwell Street mechanic’ and enjoyed tinkering on cars and fishing. Clifford will be dearly missed by his loving family and friends.
Clifford will be deeply missed by his wife: Nancy Lavon (Miller) Jones of Aurora; his daughters: Connie Sue Hussung and her husband: David of Aurora; Angel Jones of Harrison, Ohio; Lisa May Goff and her husband: Charles of Osage, Oklahoma; Terry Lynn Jones of Dillsboro, Indiana; and Rita Blevans and her husband: James of Aurora, Indiana; and by his son: Brian Jones and his wife: Angie of Aurora, Indiana.
He will also be dearly missed by his grandchildren: Gracelynn Michelle Earl and her husband: Gregory; Matthew Jones; Curtis Couch; Caitlyn Sue Hite; Troy Keeton; and Jonathan Jones; by his step-grandchildren: Lisa Hussung, Justin Roberts and Nathaniel Barnhart; by his step-great-grandchildren: Benjamin and Libby Rybolt; and by his dear friend: Bonny Roberts of Mesick, Michigan.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Henry Jones and Lena (Perkins) Jones-Manford; his step-father: Harry Manford; his son: David Lane Jones, who died on September 10th, 1992; his granddaughter: Brianna Nicole “B” “Bree” Hite, who died on September 1st, 2012; his paternal grandparents: Joseph Paul and Manley Jones; his maternal grandparents: Simp and Anna Perkins; his brothers: Paul Joseph, Robert “Bobby” and Wayne Jones and his sisters: Martha Riley and Viola Webster.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, June 16th, 2017, at 1 p.m., by Reverend Mike Jones at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street Vevay, Indiana, 47043. Interment will follow in the Vevay Cemetery.

Sharon Sue Simmons Bliton, age 71, of Deputy, Indiana, died on Monday, June 12th, 2017, at 11:18 p.m. at the King’s Daughters’ Hospital in Madison.
Sharon entered this life on July 18th, 1945 in Jefferson County, Indiana. She was the loving daughter of the late Robert D. and Lorraine Duvall Simmons. She lived in Jefferson County most of her life and was raised in the Brooksburg Baptist Church.
She married Ralph D. Bliton, Jr. on October 6th, 1962 in Switzerland County, Indiana; and this happy union of nearly 52 years was blessed with two daughters: Melissa Gale and Dawn Michelle.
She worked at the Joyce Shoe Factory, the Madison Clinic, Pilot Industries in North Vernon, Indiana and had last worked for three years as a janitor at Madison Consolidated School System. Sharon had served as a babysitter for many years caring for lots of children.
She was a member of the Jefferson County Conservation Club, Madison Senior Citizens and attended Madison First Assembly of God Church. She loved spending time with her family, going to Belterra, watching her hummingbirds and squirrels from her swing.
Sharon will be missed by her loving daughters: Melissa Gale Bliton Frisque of Madison and Dawn Michelle Bliton Smith and her husband Brian of Madison; by her grandchildren: Ashley Nicole Frisque, Deven Gerard Frisque, Hope Olivia Fox, Gage Fox, Chris Smith, Megan Smith, Skylar Smith, and Isabella “Cricket” Smith; and by her great-grandchildren: Autumn Nicole and Brooklyn Leigh Frisque.
She will also be dearly missed by her loving brothers: James E. Simmons and his wife Mary of Vevay and Carroll Thomas Simmons of Madison; her sisters-in-law: Alice Elaine Simmons of Holton, Indiana, Betty Burkhardt of Milton, Kentucky, and Mary Geyman and her husband, John of Dupont, Indiana; by her brother-in-law, Raymond Lee Bliton, Jr. of Madison; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her father, Robert D. Simmons, who died on April 29th, 1997; her mother, Lorraine Duvall Simmons, who died on February 19th, 2006; her husband of 52 years, Ralph D. Bliton, Jr., who died on August 24th, 2014; and her brother, Robert A. Simmons, who died on November 2nd, 2014.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, June 16th, 2017, at 11 a.m., by Pastor David Taylor at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana. Interment will follow in the Grandview Memorial Gardens, 9306 North US 421 near Madison.
Friends may call on Thursday, June 15th, from 4-8 p.m.; and on Friday, June 16th, from 9 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.

Juli Ann Garner, 49, of Rising Sun, passed away at 2:05 p.m. on Saturday, June 10th, 2017 at the Dearborn County Hospital in Lawrenceburg, Indiana.
Juli was born in Lynwood, California, on August 26th, 1967, the daughter of John J. Cullen, of Gualala, California and the late Joan Edna (Schaur) Cullen. Juli grew up mainly in California but got to travel and experience different cultures with her family.
On September 24th, 1991, Juli married Michael Shawn Garner in Santa Rosa, California, who survives her.
She had worked as a deli clerk at Rising Star Casino in Rising Sun. Juli was also a member of the Shiloh Baptist Church in Rising Sun.
In addition to her husband, Juli is survived by a daughter, Jesse Garner of Rising Sun; by a son, Michael Shawn Garner, Jr., of Rising Sun; by her father, John J. Cullen, of Gualala, California; by a sister, Traci Marksberry (Troy), of Rising Sun; and by a brother, John Joseph Cullen of Gualala, California.
A memorial service for Juli will be held at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, June 20th at the Shiloh Baptist Church in Rising Sun.

Wanda Justine Rumsey, 89, of Rising Sun, passed away at 7:40 p.m. on Saturday, June 10th, 2017 at The Waters of Rising Sun.
Wanda was born in Vevay, on August 17th, 1927, the daughter of the late Anna M. (Bolden) and John B. Smith. She was a graduate of Vevay High School and Bethesda School of Nursing. Wanda worked as a Registered Nurse at Dearborn County Hospital in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, for 37 years. She began working there when it first opened.
On April 6th, 1950, she married Louis W. Rumsey who passed away on April 5th, 2014. Wanda and Louie were married for 64 years.
Wanda was a faithful member of the Rising Sun United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Ohio and Dearborn County RN Club and the Progressive Home Ec Club. Wanda also served on the Ohio County Board of Health. She liked being outdoors and enjoyed raising flowers. Spending time with her family is what she loved most.
Wanda is survived by her daughter: Cheryl Grosser of Rising Sun; her son: Michael Rumsey, of Rising Sun; by a daughter-in-law, Tina Rumsey, of Rising Sun; and by her grandchildren: Kim Penrod (Dave), of Bluffton, Indiana; Jeff Rumsey (Tina), of Rising Sun; Kristin Miller (David), of Cincinnati, Ohio; and Allison Summerford (Robert) of Hendersonville, Tennessee.
She is also survived by her great grandchildren: Greta and Barrett Rumsey and John Summerford.
Wanda was preceded in death by her parents; by her husband Louis W. Rumsey; by her son John W. Rumsey; by her brother Jay Smith; and by son-in-law David Grosser.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 15th at the Markland Funeral Home in Rising Sun, with Rev. Greg Wagoner officiating. Burial will be at Rising Sun New Cemetery. Visitation was held on Wednesday, June 14th, at the funeral home.

Johnniee Lee Katherine (Hibbard) Salyers, age 72, of Florence, passed away at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 10th, 2017, at her residence.
Johnniee entered this life on March 23rd, 1945, in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Raligh Hibbard, whom preceded her in death; and Betty Lou (Carr) Hibbard-Biehl. She was raised in Indianapolis, Indiana where she attended school.
Johnniee was united in marriage on September 11th, 1998, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to Michael Curtis Salyers. Johnniee and Michael shared nearly 19 years of marriage together until her death.
Johnniee earned her Licensed Practical Nursing Degree in California and was employed as a Charge Nurse for the Swiss Villa Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Vevay, retiring in 2015 after eight years of service. Johnniee served 45 years as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She resided in the Switzerland County community for the past 10 years.
Johnniee will be dearly missed by her husband: Michael Curtis Salyers of Florence; her mother: Betty Lou (Carr) Hibbard-Biehl of Penntown, Indiana; and her sister: Nancy Collins of Sunman, Indiana.
She was preceded in death by her father: Raligh Hibbard.
