George ‘Pee Wee’ Wilson

George Alfred “Pee Wee” Wilson, 83, of near Moorefield, passed away at 3:31 p.m. on Monday, May 15th, 2017, at the Swiss Villa Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Vevay.

Pee Wee was born on March 5th, 1934, in Tampa, Florida, son of the late Lewis Alfred Wilson and Bessie Elizabeth (Meek) Bradford. He was raised in Tampa, Florida where he attended school.

Pee Wee was inducted into the United States Army in 1959, serving during Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged with the rank of Private on July 31st, 1962.

Pee Wee was united in marriage on June 12th, 1971, in Indianapolis, to the late Norma Jean Foxworthy. Pee Wee and Norma shared nearly 44 years of marriage together until Norma passed away on January 12th, 2015.

Pee Wee was formerly employed for Millwright Local Union 1003 in Indianapolis, for 20 years. He later owned and operated Wilson’s Welding Shop in Indianapolis for 10 years.

Pee Wee had resided in the Switzerland County community since 1991. He was a member of the Vevay American Legion Post #185 and the Legion Riders, Vevay VFW Post #5396 and the Switzerland Lodge No. 122 F&AM.

Pee Wee will be dearly missed by his daughter: Sandra Noblitt and her husband: Michael of near Moorefield; his grandson: Chris Weesner and his wife: Christy of near Moorefield; his nephews: Chip and Jim Ferrill of Fortville, Indiana and Ricky Sullivan of Tampa, Florida; and his niece: Joanne Sullivan of Tampa, Florida.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Lewis Alfred Wilson and Bessie Elizabeth (Meek) Bradford; his loving wife of nearly 44 years: Norma Jean (Foxworthy) Wilson, who died on January 12th, 2015; his brother: James Lewis Wilson; his sisters: Dorothy Elizabeth Ferrill, Marie Thompson and Mary Sullivan.

Friends may call from 1-3:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 20th, 2017, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home 208 Ferry Street Vevay, Indiana 47043. Masonic Services will be conducted on Saturday, May 20th, at 3:30 pm, by the Switzerland Lodge No. 122 F&AM, at the funeral home. Full military rites will be conducted by the Honor Guard of the Vevay American Legion Post #185 and the Vevay VFW Post #5396 at the funeral home.

Interment will follow in the Vevay Cemetery.
