Helen McNary

Helen Ruth McNary of Indianapolis passed away May 12th, 2015 in Indianapolis.

She was born in 1932 in Englewood, Tennessee.

Her husband, Jim McNary, survives.

The McNarys are former residents of Switzerland County.

Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. in Flanner & Buchanan Washington Park East, Indianapolis, with funeral services at 1 p.m.

Patricia Bailey

Patricia Kay Bailey, 72, of Rising Sun, passed away at 9:36 p.m. Tuesday, May 5th, 2015, at The Waters of Rising Sun.

Pat was born in Milan on September 27th, 1942, the daughter of the late Raymond and Dorothy (Whitham) Dickerson. She attended school at Cass-Union and Rising Sun. Pat worked for several years at Monsanto, which was known as Bayer when she retired. She was a member of the Bethel Unity Baptist Church and the Rising Sun Eastern Star.

Pat was the widow of Robert Leon Bailey who passed away in 1998.

Patricia is survived by her son, Robin Bailey and wife Shelia Jane of Port Orange, Florida; his granddaughters, Jamie Bailey Chase and Brogan Bailey; her great-grandchildren, Ashton, Easton, Eli and Bobby.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Robert; and her grandson, Michael Lee Bailey.

Funeral services were held Monday, May 11th, at Markland Funeral Home in Rising Sun, with Pastor Jim Jackson officiating. Eastern Star services were held Sunday evening during visitation. Burial was in Rising Sun New Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. marklandfuneralhome.com.

Aaron Holcomb

Aaron Michael Holcomb, 34, of Patriot, passed away at 5:24 p.m. Sunday, May 10th, 2015, at his residence.

He was born April 9th, 1981, in Washington, D.C., the son of Teddy James “Ted” and Patricia Dorothy “Pat” (Blass) Holcomb. He was raised in Boonsboro, Maryland and graduated from Louisville High School in Louisville, Nebraska. Aaron was currently employed as a customer service specialist at Big Lots in Aurora for the past four years. He resided the past 12 years in the Patriot community. Aaron will be remembered for his love of playing pool and fishing.

He is survived by his parents, Teddy James “Ted” and Patricia Dorothy “Pat” (Blass) Holcomb of Patriot; his brother, Daniel Holcomb and wife Paij of Waukesha, Wisconsin; his nephews, Keith and Josh Holcomb of Waukesha, Wisconsin; his maternal grandparents, James and Suzanne Blass of Mechanicsville, Maryland; his paternal grandmother, Gladys Farr of Beckley, West Virginia; and several uncles and aunts.

Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. today (Thursday, May 14th) at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home in Vevay, with Reverend Ron Lee officiating. Friends may call from 5-7 p.m. today (Thursday) at the funeral home.

Becky Reed

Rebecca Jane “Becky” (Wolf) Reed, 88, of Vevay, passed away at 2:45 p.m. Saturday, May 9th, 2015, at her residence.

She was born April 29th, 1927, on Tates Ridge near Caledonia in Jefferson County, the daughter of the late Roy and Agnes (Carnine) Wolf. She was raised on Tates Ridge near Caledonia in Jefferson County and attended Central High School.

Becky was united in marriage on December 17th, 1943, in Canaan, to the late David Reed. Unto this union three daughters, Carolyn, Tootie and Pamela, and a son, David, arrived to bless their home. David and Becky shared nearly 60 years of marriage together until he passed away on October 26th, 2003.

Becky was employed in her early years of life for the former Roberts Supermarket in Vevay. Becky helped her husband on the family farm in Vevay. She was a former member of the Mt. Sterling Baptist Church in Mt. Sterling and was a member of the Center Square Baptist Church in Center Square. Becky was a wonderful homemaker and will be remembered for her love of motorcycle riding, sewing, reading, gardening, her family and Doberman Pinscher dogs.

Survivors include her three daughters, Carolyn J. Miller and husband Kenny of Vevay, Sandra “Tootie” Leap and husband John of Vevay and Pamela K. Reed of Vevay; her son, David G. Reed of Center Square; her seven grandchildren, Scott Miller, Steve Miller, Robert Konkle, Angela Brockman, Jerry Girton, Sarah Day and Kenny Reed; her 18 great-grandchildren, Nicholle, Jacob, Caitlin, Brittany, Kelsey, Judd, Ian, Gus, Luke, Ryan, Brittany, Brooke, Lydia, Killian, Christopher, Sam, Reed and Gabe; her 13 great-great-grandchildren, Alex, Noah, Kyle, Caroline, Kyndell, Aubrey, Vaughn, Kingston, Malachia, Hayley, Peyton, Jayden and Antonio; her sister-in-law, Vera Wolf of Madison; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents and her husband, she was also preceded in death by her brother, Richard C. Wolf on March 10th, 2015.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 16th, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home in Vevay, with Reverend Gary Shepherd officiating. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Friday, May 15th, at the funeral home.
