Donald Ragle

Donald Eugene Ragle, age 79, of Lawrenceburg, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, March 29th, 2016 at Dearborn County Hospital.

Donald was born on December 26th, 1936, the son of Robert and Edith Ragle. He graduated from high school, and in 1995 he married Treva Raney, who he truly adored.

He worked at the Crane Naval Weapons Depot as a Locomotive Mechanic.

In 2011 he moved to Lawrenceburg. He had a ball cap that said “I love Jesus” and was a member of Hope Baptist Church in Dillsboro. He loved to go to yard sales and had many pictures and figurines of eagles. He also loved his pets, especially his ‘Baron’ and his son Shawn’s dog ‘Tank’.

He is survived by his loving wife Treva (Raney) Ragle; three sons: Justin (Cynthia) Ragle of Sandborn, Indiana; Paul ( Dianna) Meyers of Sparta, Michigan; and Shawn Meyers of Lawrenceburg; by four daughters; Debbie (Rick) Zigler of Fillmore, Indiana; Areva Ragle of Indianapolis, Indiana; Rachel (Daniel) Lea of Lawrenceburg, Indiana; and Dara (Dana) Swanson of Vevay.

He is also survived by a sister, Ann Russell of Indianapolis, Indiana; 10 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Donald is preceded in death by his twin sons, Jeffery and Jerry Ragle; and his second wife, Dorothy Jolliff Ragle.

Funeral services for Donald were held on Saturday, April 2nd, 2016, at Hope Baptist Church on US 50 in Dillsboro with Pastor Tom Holt officiating. Internment followed in Walnut Hills Cemetery in Odon, Indiana.

Friends were invited to call on the family at Hope Baptist Church on Friday, April 1st. Memorials may be made to the family.

Libby Cook

Florence Elizabeth “Libby” Cook, 70, Cincinnati, formerly of Rising Sun, passed away on March 24th, 2016 in Cincinnati.

She was born on April 14th, 1945, in California, the daughter of the late LeRoy and the late Florence Massey Cook. After World War II, at the age of one, she and her parents returned to the family farm in Rising Sun.

She was a 1963 graduate of Rising Sun High School, and was retired from Gibson Greeting Card Company. She was talented in art, liked to crochet, and bake cakes for family holidays. Her best times were spent with her family and friends.

Survivors include her son, Andrew Cameron (Cathy) Johnston, of Bellville, Illinois; three step-grandchildren and one step great-granddaughter; sisters: Paula Cook Rudolph of Greendale and Lois Cook of Rising Sun; and a brother, Allen Cook of Rising Sun. She also leaves her former husband and friend, David Johnston; and dear friend, Rick Kay.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Libby donated her body to the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 30th, 2016 at 1 p.m. at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, 6104 Desmond Street, Cincinnati, Ohio, 45227. Memorials may be made to St. Anthony’s.

Julia Carolyn (Ramsey) Sieglitz-Burke, age 86, of Madison, formerly of Vevay, died Sunday, April 3rd, 2016, at her residence in Madison.

Joshua Lyon

Joshua Dion Lyon, 36, of Rising Sun, passed away at 7:38 a.m. on Friday, April 1st, 2016 at Dearborn County Hospital in Lawrenceburg, Indiana.

Josh was born in Lawrenceburg on November 25th, 1979, the son of Betty Jane (Ballard) Brady and the late Dion Sonny Lyon. He was a graduate of Switzerland County High School, Class of 1998.

Josh worked at North American Stainless for RESCO. Josh enjoyed fishing and also kept an aquarium at home. He also liked music, playing fantasy football and collecting tennis shoes. Spending time with his boys was what he loved most.

Josh is survived by two sons, Payton and Broc Lyon of Rising Sun; by his girlfriend, Rachel Renneker of Rising Sun; by his mother, Betty Jane Brady of Rising Sun; by his stepfather, Gene Brady of Patriot; by his three brothers: Michael McClellan (Tina) of Rising Sun; Larry McClellan (Debbie) of Greendale; and Bobby McClellan (Audra) of Rising Sun.

He was preceded in death by his father: Dion Sonny Lyon.

Funeral services were conducted on Wednesday, April 6th, 2016, at the Markland Funeral Home in Rising Sun. Friends were invited to call on the family on Wednesday prior to the beginning of the services at the funeral home. Burial was at Cedar Hedge Cemetery in Rising Sun.

Michael Hunt

Michael Lee Hunt, age 46, of Vevay, passed away at 5:31 a.m. on Wednesday, March 30th, 2016, at the University of Cincinnati Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Michael entered this life on November 11th, 1969, in Cincinnati, Ohio, the loving son of Clarence and Ramona (Bosaw) Hunt. He was raised in Maineville, Ohio, and was a 1988 graduate of King’s High School in Kingsmill, Ohio.

In 1994, Michael and his parents moved to the Switzerland County community where he had resided for the past 22 years.

Michael was employed for the US Shoe Factory in Vevay from 1994 until it closed. He was later employed as a Machine Operator for Arvin Sango in Madison, retiring in 2007, when he became disabled. Ever since Michael became disabled he spent his time going many places and loved going out to eat. Michael also enjoyed watching TV, collecting guns and knives and word search puzzles. Michael was a devoted son, loving brother and uncle and will be dearly missed by his family.

Michael will be dearly missed by his loving parents: Clarence and Ramona Hunt of Vevay; his brothers: Kenneth Wayne Hunt and his wife: Gwen of Loveland, Ohio and Paul Steven Hunt of Cincinnati, Ohio; his sister: Melissa June Keiser and her husband: Greg of Maineville, Ohio; his nephews: Christopher Hunt, Jeremy Keiser, Philip Hunt, Josh Hunt and Steven Hunt and his wife: Becky; and his great-nephews: Steven, Jr. and Jaxson.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents: Purda Hunt, Sr., who died on December 13th, 1980 and Avrilla B. (Kidd) Hunt, who died on November 5th, 1965; and his maternal grandparents: George Joseph Bosaw, who died on March 23rd, 1973 and Katherine Margaret (Henry) Bosaw, who died on November 11th, 2008.

Funeral services were conducted on Sunday, April 3rd, 2016, by Reverend Ron Lee and Reverend Lenny Thorpe at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street Vevay, Indiana, 47043. Interment followed in the New Liberty Cemetery, East Enterprise.

Friends were invited to call on the family on Saturday, April 2nd, at the funeral home.

Pat Nail

Patricia Ann “Pat” (Bavis) Nail, age 63, of Vevay, passed away at 3:31 p.m., Sunday, April 3rd, 2016, at the King’s Daughters’ Hospital in Madison.

Pat entered this life on June 20th, 1952, in Baltimore, Maryland, the daughter of Francis and the late, Alma (Mounts) Bavis. She was raised in Maryland where she attended Kenwood High School in Essex, Maryland and later earned her Graduate Equivalence Degree.

Pat was employed as a Barista for Belterra Casino & Resort for two years. She was also employed as a Nail Technician in Vevay for 10 years.

Pat resided in the Vevay community since 1986. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Pat will be dearly missed by her daughters: Lee Ann Carr and her husband: Jason of Vevay and Joleen Surber and her husband: Dean of North Pole, Alaska; by her father: Francis Bavis of Sykesville, Maryland; by her grandchildren: Darrian Phillips, Jade Carr and Jace Carr; her half-brothers: Steve Parquette of Palm Beach, Florida and Robbie Parquette of Ocean City, Maryland; and her several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother: Alma (Mounts) Bavis and her sister: Linda Bavis.

Ronald Mondary

Ronald Lynn Mondary, 68, of Moores Hill, Indiana, passed away at 12:36 a.m. on Friday, April 1st, 2016, at University Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Ronnie was born in Milan, Indiana, on October 19th, 1947, the son of the late June Ann (Kelly) and Victor E. Mondary. He was graduate of Rising Sun High School, Class of 1966.

He formerly worked as a correctional officer for the Texas Department of Corrections at Huntsville State Prison; and also had been a deputy for the Dade County Florida Police Department.

Ronnie was recently baptized at the Moores Hill Church of Christ.

Ronnie is survived by his loving companion of 38 years Rosie Cantrell of Moores Hill, Indiana; by a sister, Barb Anderson (Greg), of Rising Sun; by seven brothers: Victor “Sandy” Mondary (Sue) of Brownsburg, Indiana; Tony Mondary (Fran) of Rising Sun; Mike Mondary (Lydia) of Rising Sun; Dee Mondary of Rising Sun; Bruce Mondary of Rising Sun; Raymond Mondary (Amanda) of Rising Sun; and Renny Mondary of Rising Sun.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Victor and June Mondary; and by his brother: Richard “Ritchie” Mondary.

Per Ronnie’s wishes, there will be no formal funeral services as he saw no valid reason to make anyone more sad than they already were (his words).

There will be a small family memorial on the riverbank at a later date.

Steven Farrell

Steven Ralph Farrell, age 59, of Muncie, Indiana, formerly of Dunnville, Kentucky, passed away at 1:33 a.m. on Wednesday, March 30th, 2016, at the IU Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie.

Steven entered this life on December 30th, 1956, in Louisville, Kentucky, the son of the late Robert Cotton “Bob” and Ruth (Berry) Farrell. He was raised near Pleasant, and attended the Madison Consolidated High School in Madison.

Steven was a member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church and Dunnville Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, basketball especially UK and baseball.

Steven will be missed by his sister: Ida Jean Cundiff of Dunnville, Kentucky; his brothers: Robert Farrell of Canaan, Indiana; Dale Farrell of Canaan, Indiana; Michael Farrell of Dunnville, Kentucky; and Kenneth Farrell of Canaan, Indiana; and his several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded his parents: Robert Cotton “Bob” Farrell, who died on May 26th, 2006; and Ruth (Berry) Farrell, who died on January 12th, 1988.

Funeral services were conducted on Wednesday, April 6th, 2016, by Reverend Ron Lee at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street Vevay, Indiana, 47043. Interment followed in the Zion Cemetery, Bennington.

Friends were invited to call on the family on Wednesday prior to the beginning of the service at the funeral home.

Loyd Robinson

Loyd Lee Robinson, age 49, formerly of Pleasant, passed away at 11:35 a.m. on Wednesday, March 30th, 2016 at St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital in Houston, Texas, with his loving family by his side.

Loyd entered this life on January 3rd, 1967, at the King’s Daughters’ Hospital in Madison, the son of Forrest and the late, Iva “Callie” Lea (Bright) Robinson. He spent most of his childhood in Switzerland County, where he later resided before moving to Humble, Texas.

Loyd was employed off and on throughout his adult life, although he found his passion as a semi-truck driver. He was known for his outgoing personality and his easiness to make friends. Everyone who knew Loyd, knows that he ultimately lived for his children.

Loyd will be dearly missed by his loving children: Jennifer Placker and her husband: Jason of Texas City, Texas and Chad Robinson and his wife: Kelsi of Jeffersonville, Indiana; by his grandchildren: Hannah, Deni, and Oliver (arriving in July); and his companion: Linda, of New Caney, Texas.

He is also survived by his father: Forrest Robinson and his companion: Kathy of Bennington; his sisters: Barbara “Sis” Burkman and her husband: Mike of Scipio, Indiana; Edith “Edie” Fugate and her fiancé: Wes of Mason, Ohio; his brothers: Daniel “Danny” Robinson and his wife: Tonya of Mason, Ohio; Walter “Walt” Robinson of New Caney, Texas; by his aunt: Mary Whitehead and her husband: Jack of Humble, Texas; his many nieces and nephews and countless friends.

He is preceded in death by his mother: Iva “Callie” Lea (Bright) Robinson, who died on May 7th, 2005; his niece: Christina Ryker and his nephew: Bradley Robinson.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 9th at 1 p.m., by Brother Logan Fugate at the Cross Plains Church of Christ in Cross Plains, Indiana. Memorial Donations may be made to the family.

Robbie Wilson

Robbie “Whoppy” Wilson, 35, of Patriot, passed away at 2:02 p.m. on Monday, March 28th, 2016, at his residence.

Robbie was born in Columbus, Ohio, on January 7th, 1981, the son of Luann (Chandler) Shields, of Sanders, Kentucky and Danny L. Wilson, Sr., of Jackson, Ohio. Robbie attended Switzerland County High School. He was formerly employed at North American Stainless.

Robbie loved being outside and enjoyed riding dirt bikes, fishing and tinkering with anything that needed to be repaired. Robbie’s children were what brought him the most joy.

Robbie is survived by his sweetheart; Brittany Davis of Patriot; by his children: Braxon, Zailyn and Chloey; by his mother Luann Shields of Sanders, Kentucky; by his father Danny L. Wilson Sr. of Jackson, Ohio; by his brothers: Kevin Wilson of East Enterprise and Justin VanSickle of Rising Sun; by his sisters: Whitney VanSickle of Rising Sun; Tasha Simons of Columbus, Ohio; and Kimberly Simons of Columbus, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his brother Danny L. Wilson Jr., who passed away in 2005.

Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, April 2nd, 2016, at the Markland Funeral Home in Rising Sun, with Reverend Anthony Wilks officiating. Burial was in the Vevay Cemetery. Visitation was held on Friday, April 1st, at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the family.

Charlie Peters

Charles Robert “Charlie” Peters, age 65, of Vevay, passed away at 10:25 p.m., Thursday, March 31st, 2016, at the Swiss Villa Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Vevay.

Charlie entered this life on August 6th, 1950, in Vevay, the loving son of the late Cecil and Jeanette (Coy) Peters. He was raised in Switzerland County, and was a 1968 graduate of Vevay High School.

Charlie was inducted into the United States Army on April 6th, 1970, in Louisville, Kentucky, serving during Vietnam War. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Sharpshooter M-16, Expert M-14 and the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal. Charlie was honorably discharged with the rank of Specialist 4th Class on April 1st, 1976, at Fort Lewis, Washington.

Charlie was united in marriage on March 29th, 1985, in Vevay, to Vicki Sue Chase, and to this union arrived two sons: Christopher and Cody to bless their home. Charlie and Vicki shared 31 loving years of marriage together until his death.

Charlie was employed as a Deck Hand for Army Corp of Engineer in Louisville, Kentucky until he became disabled. He worked on a Derrick boat and was a crane operator for the Corp of Engineers. He was also formerly employed for the U.S. Shoe Factory in Madison.

Charlie resided all of his life in the Switzerland County community. He was a member of the Vevay American Legion Post #185 and the Vevay VFW Post #5396. He was an avid IU and Bengals fan. Charlie enjoyed fishing, keeping a meticulous lawn and spending time with his sons. Charlie will be dearly missed by his loving family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Cecil and Jeanette (Coy) Peters; his brother: Harold Wayne Peters, who died February 20th, 2009; his sister: Louella McCarty, who died November 8th, 2014; his nephew: Michael Wayne “Mike” McCarty, who died on June 8th, 2015; his niece: Tycia Lynn Sigmon-Martin, who died on November 2nd, 2014 and his brother-in-law: Junior McCarty, who died on August 22nd, 2011.

Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday, April 5th, 2016, by Tracy Nickulis at the Haskell and Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street Vevay, Indiana, 47043. Interment followed in the Vevay Cemetery.

Friends were invited to call on the family on Tuesday, April 5th prior to the beginning of the service, at the funeral home.

Wyatt Matthew Sebree

Wyatt Matthew Sebree passed away at 11:02 p.m. on Monday, April 4th, 2016 at Cincinnati Childrens’ Hospital.

Wyatt was born in Lawrenceburg, Indiana on March 1st, 2016. Wyatt is survived by his mother Lindsey Sebree of Rising Sun; by his father, Timothy McDaniel of Falmouth, Kentucky; by a brother: Julien Ray Allen Rarrieck of Falmouth, Kentucky; by his grandparents: Roger and Karen Sebree of Rising Sun; by his great grandparents Doris Richardson of Vevay and Lawrence and Loyce Robidoux of Florida; by uncles Roger F. Sebree of Rising Sun and Joshua A. Sebree of Rising Sun; and by several other aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, April 8th at Markland Funeral Home in Rising Sun. Friends are invited to call on Friday from 11 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Mount Carmel Cemetery in Aberdeen. Memorial donations may be made to the family.
