Albert Boyer

Albert G. Boyer, 77, of Mount Sterling, passed away at 1:47 a.m. Saturday, March 21st, 2015, at Swiss Villa Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Vevay.

He was born August 13th, 1937, in Madison, the son of the late Ralph C. Boyer and Mildred Marie (Higgins) Boyer-Addison. He was raised in Vevay where he attended school. Albert was inducted into the U.S. Army on June 28th, 1956, and was honorably discharged with the rank of Private First Class on December 16th, 1957.

Albert was united in marriage on July 25th, 1967, in Las Vegas, Nevada, to Delores Elaine Charnell. Albert and Delores shared nearly 48 years of marriage together until his death.

Albert was employed as a tool and die maker for Pacific Valves in Long Beach, California, for 25 years. He was also employed by the Roller Coaster Company in Long Beach for eight years. Albert resided in the Mount Sterling community since October, 1993.

Survivors include his wife, Delores Elaine “Dee” (Charnell) Boyer of Mount Sterling; his three daughters, Tina McCray and husband Michael of Vevay, Debra Lynn Beatty of Madison, and Carole Easley of Oregon; his son, Ralph Boyer of Florence; his six grandchildren, Tony, Sonya, Shante´, Samantha, Abby and Jazzmine; his eight great-grandchildren, Michael, Tony, Gage, TJ, Isaiah, Isaac, Isabella and Isabelle; his brother, Darrell Boyer of Valparaiso, Indiana; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by his grandson, Floyd Boyer; and his brother, Floyd Boyer.

Mary Earls

Mary Charlotte (Sullivan) Earls, 86, of Mount Sterling, passed away Monday, March 23rd, 2015, at her home.

She was born March 18th, 1929, in Vevay, the loving daughter of the late Clarence A. and Minnie (Lothridge) Sullivan. She was raised in Vevay and was a 1947 graduate of Vevay High School.

Mary was united in marriage on October 25th, 1947, in Carrollton, Kentucky, to Norman William Earls. Mary and Norman shared nearly 59 years of marriage together until his death on December 3rd, 2006.

Mary was a former employee of the U.S. Shoe Corporation factory in Vevay for several years. She was a former janitor for the Jeff-Craig Elementary School in Vevay, retiring after 10 years of service. She was a member of the Mount Sterling Baptist Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir and teaching Sunday School for many years. Mary will be remembered for her love of fishing, socializing with her family and friends, gardening, canning and babysitting for many years. Mary was a devoted mother, grandmother and dear friend and will be missed by her community.

She is survived by her daughter, Sherrie Wiesmann and husband Eugene of Mount Sterling; her son, Norman D. Earls and wife Diane of Versailles; her daughter-in-law, Sharon Earls of Salem; her grandchildren: Anna Earls; Cheryle Peelman; Chrissy Hildebrand and husband Keith; and Amanda Asbury and husband James; her great-grandchildren: Jacey Peelman, Nathan Hildebrand, Lauren Hildebrand, Bryce Asbury and Gage Asbury; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents and her husband, she was also preceded in death by her daughter, Violet Earls on May 7th, 1953; her son, David Lee “Butch” Earls on June 12th, 1999; her brother, Lee Sullivan; her half brothers, Joe Sexton and Ernest Sexton; and her half sisters, Golda Browning, Martha Bell Bosaw and Anna Marie Sexton.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. today (Thursday, March 26th) at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home in Vevay, with Reverend Mike Jones officiating. Interment will be in Vevay Cemetery.
