Elizabeth Woolen

Elizabeth Lucille Woolen, age 60 and a resident of Carrollton, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, November 15th, at the St. Elizabeth Hospital in Florence, Kentucky.

Elizabeth was born on November 15th, 1957, the daughter of the late Charles and Ester Griess.

Elizabeth is survived by four sons: Robert Hite Jr (wife Molisha); John Hite (wife Talisha); Michael Woolen (fiancé Courtney Fritts); and Floyd Brice III; four brothers: David Ralph Griess, Johnnie Buford Griess, Albert Edward Griess and Donald James Griess; one sister: Jeanie Griess Lashinsky and four grandchildren: Alyssa Moore, Kaleb Hite, Collin Hite and Kaylee Hite.

Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by two sons: Jesse Woolen and Jason O’Dell Hite; two brothers: Charles Jackson Griess Jr. and Mitchell Raymond Griess; and one sister: Marcella Griess Hite.

A memorial service was held on Sunday, November 19th, at the Graham-Dunn Funeral Home in Carrollton, Kentucky. A time of fellowship was held prior to the beginning of the service.

Margaret Zigelmier

Margaret Mary Zigelmier, 66, of Florence, passed away at 7:55 p.m. on Friday, November 17th, 2017 at Dearborn County Hospital in Lawrenceburg.

Margaret was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan on February 27th, 1951, the daughter of the late Deloris (Pratt) and Donald VanKalker. Margaret formerly worked as a CNA at The Waters of Rising Sun.

Margaret is survived by two daughters: Angel Howlett, of Florence and Donna Zigelmier, of Florence; by a son: Nicholas Zigelmier, of Washington, D.C.; by grandchildren: Noah and Zachary Howlett; by two brothers: Nick VanKalker and Ronald VanKalker; and by three nieces: Mindy Robertson, Heather VanKalker and Nikki VanKalker.

Services will be held later at the convenience of the family.

Memorial donations may be made to Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. Markland Funeral Home of Rising Sun, IN serving the family.

Ardelia Mitchell

Ardelia “Dee” Mitchell, age 67, of Osgood, Indiana formerly of Madison, died on Wednesday, November 15th, 2017, at 2:45 a.m. at the Margaret Mary Hospital in Batesville, Indiana.

Dee entered this life on September 17th, 1950 in Letcher County, Kentucky. She was the loving daughter of Chester and Amanda Cornett Mitchell. She resided for several years in Dayton, Ohio, then in Madison and then in Ripley County. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and homemaker all of her life.

She was a Christian and believer of Christ. Dee was a very private person and spent most of her time with her family.

Ardelia will be missed by her loving son, Henry Leon Rogers of Osgood, Indiana; her loving daughter, Lee Ann Rogers Miller of Aurora, Indiana; her sisters: Caroline Detmer of Madison; Amanda Jackson of Chelsea, Indiana; and Pat Edwards of Potomac Falls, Virginia; by her brothers: Eli Mitchell of Dayton, Ohio; Jonah Mitchell of Nicholasville, Kentucky; Arthur Edwards of Lawrenceburg, Indiana; and Hubert Edwards of East Enterprise. She will also be missed by several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her father, Chester Mitchell; her mother, Amanda Cornett Mitchell Edwards; her loving grandson, Donald Ray “Bippy” Stanley, III, who died on April 24th, 2008; her brother, Junior Mitchell; and her sister, Reva Mae McAdams.

Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, November 18th, 2017, by Father Leon at the Grandview Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel, 9306 North US 421 near Madison. Entombment followed in the Grandview Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.

Friends were invited to call on the family on Saturday, November 18th, prior to the beginning of the service.

Memorial contributions may be made to Donor’s Favorite Charity. Cards are available at the funeral home. Morgan-Nay Funeral Centre in Madison is assisting the family during this difficult time.

Larry Prince

Larry Dean Prince, 69, of Patriot, passed away at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, November 15th, 2017 at his residence.

Larry was born in Jackson County, Indiana, on July 17th, 1948, the son of the late Nana (Eldridge) Poole and Orville Wayne Prince. Larry worked in construction as a carpenter and mason.

He was the widower of Brenda Lee (Moore) Prince.

Larry is survived by a daughter, Shawna Avendano, of Bedford, Indiana; by three sons: Frankie Prince, of Patriot; Jeffrey Prince, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; and Larry D. Prince II, of Patriot.

Services will be held later at the convenience of the family. Markland Funeral Home of Rising Sun is serving the family at this difficult time.

Paul Gibson

Paul Edward “Bubble Gum” Gibson, 66, of Rising Sun, passed away on Monday, November 19th, 2017 at Veterans Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Paul was born in Harland, Kentucky, on June 14th, 1951, the son of the late Ethel and Dewey Gibson.

He proudly served his country in both the U.S. Army and U.S. Navy; and was a member of the American Legion. Bubble Gum worked as a truck driver.

Paul is survived by a son, Paul E. Gibson II and his wife Cynthia, of Newton Grove, North Carolina; and by three grandchildren: Allen, Tyler and Fiona Gibson.

He was preceded in death by his companion of 32 years, Esther Kelly on December 7th, 2013.

Graveside services with military honors were held on Wednesday, November 22nd at Rising Sun New Cemetery with Reverend Jim Jenkins officiating. Memorial donations may be made to Ohio County Animal Shelter. Markland Funeral Home of Rising Sun is serving the family at this difficult time.
