William Dale “Bill” Gullion, age 59, of Vevay, formerly of Deputy, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, November 8th, 2017 at his residence in Vevay.
Born January 1st, 1958 in Milan, Indiana, he was the son of Reverend George “Buddy” Gullion and Evelyn Scudder.
Bill served in the United States Army, having been discharged in 1979. He and the former Sandra Caplinger were married in 1978 at their home in Saint Omer, Indiana and were married for 38 years. This marriage was blessed with seven children.
He retired as a truck driver for Baylor Trucking in Milan roughly 15 years ago. He also was a certified mechanic and welder, and previously worked for Tree City Supply in Greensburg, Indiana.
Bill attended Madison First Church of the Nazarene. He enjoyed building trucks and engines. He also loved antiques and going to car shows.
He will be sadly missed by his mother, Evelyn Smith of Vevay; his sister, Mary Pohlman of Rising Sun; his brother, Wayne Gullion of English, Kentucky; his sister, Georgia Richards of Vevay; his sister Karen Peelman of Vevay; his daughters: Michelle Colen of Madison; Rachel Gullion of Milton, Kentucky; and Melissa Gullion of Deputy, Indiana; by his sons: George Gullion of Pendleton, Indiana; Christopher Gullion of Miami, Indiana; and Matthew Gullion of Westville, Indiana.
He will also be greatly missed by is grandchildren: Billy Gullion, Casey bullion, Brittany Brown, McKenzie Gullion, Keegan Gullion, Joshua Gullion, Jamie Lynn Davis, Wyatt Gullion, Morgan Gullion, Desiree Davis, and Abigail Daily; and one great grandchild, Shayleigh Gullion.
He was preceded in death by his father; by one son, Billy Gullion; and one grandson, Lil’ Shawn Colen. By his paternal grandparents; Verle Gullion and Mary Chandler Gullion; and maternal grandparents: Ezra (Jack) Scudder and Mary Bailey Scudder Reynolds.
There will be no funeral services.
Donald Lee Curry, 83, of Rising Sun, passed away at 4:20 p.m. on Thursday, November 9th, 2017 at his residence.
Donald was born in Center Square on May 11th, 1934, the son of the late Ora (Jividen) and Orlando Curry. Donald’s family moved to Ohio County when he was 12 years old.
He proudly served his country in the U.S. Marines.
He was the husband of Rose Marie (Bovard) Curry. On July 25th, 1958, they were married in Rising Sun. Donald and Rose were married over 59 years.
Donald retired from the Monsanto Chemical Company, where he was Fire Chief and Safety Engineer, after 28 years of service. He attended the Rising Sun Church of the Nazarene and also attended the Rising Sun Church of Christ for several years. Donald was a lifetime member of the NRA, a member of the Rising Sun New Cemetery Board, a former member of the Ohio County Zoning Board, Ohio County Rescue and Rising Sun Fire Department.
Donald appreciated vintage cars, trucks and motorcycles and had a pulling truck at one time. He was also a collector of guns, coins and antiques. Donald was an outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and picking blackberries. He had a great affection for animals, especially his dogs.
Donald is survived by his loving wife, Rose Marie Curry, of Rising Sun; by a daughter, Tamara Brett (Dayle), of Rising Sun; by four sons: Mark Curry, of Rising Sun; Donald Lynn Curry (Marian), of Batavia, Ohio; Chris Curry (Danielle), of Rising Sun; and Shawn Curry, of Rising Sun; by grandchildren: Angel Leiland, Misty Weiss, Nena Curry, Joshua Curry, Lora Curry, Johnny Hensley, Lucas Brett, Tia Doolittle, Kelli Curry, Ian Curry, Wesley Curry, Shyanne Rugg, Braxton Eaglin, Elysia Curry, Megan Kincart; and by his great grandchildren: Sawyer, Willow, Canaan, Nazreth, Zion, Julian, Elijah, Adrianna, Maddox, Liam, Laila, Briana, Decklynn, Ella, Brogan, Braclyn, Shelvess, Jaquess, Torress, Marguess and Kamryn.
He was preceded in death by his parents; by his grandson, Noah Curry; by his brother, Gerald Curry; by sisters Patsy Turner, Etheleen Brett, and Norma Reed; and infant sister Wilma Curry.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, November 14th at the Markland Funeral Home in Rising Sun, with Brother Greg Matthew and Pastor Darwin Presler officiating. Friends were invited to call on the family on Monday, November 13th, at the funeral home. Burial with military graveside honors was at New Liberty Cemetery in East Enterprise.

Carolyn M. (Copeland) Morton, age 91, of Pleasant, Indiana, passed away at 10:21 p.m. on Monday, November 13th, 2017, at the Swiss Villa Nursing & Rehab Center in Vevay.
Carolyn entered this life on July 6th, 1926, near Cross Plains, Indiana, the loving daughter of the late Earl J. and Grace M. (Porter) Copeland. She was a 1945 graduate of the Cross Plains High School in Cross Plains.
Carolyn was united in marriage on November 10th, 1945, in Correct, Indiana, to the late Ralph Eugene Morton, and to this union arrived two daughters: Rosemary and Rita; and one son, Ronald, to bless their home. Carolyn and Ralph shared nearly 64 years of marriage together until Ralph passed away on January 28th, 2009.
After graduating from beauty school in 1952 in Indianapolis, Indiana and receiving her beautician license in July 1954, Carolyn owned and operated Twinkle Beauty Shop in Pleasant for 26 years. She co-owned and operated with her husband, Ralph, the Morton Store and Mill from 1969-1986.
Carolyn was a faithful member of the Brushy Fork Baptist Church in Canaan, Indiana for over 50 years. Carolyn was very artistic and enjoyed painting and wood crafting.
Carolyn will be deeply missed by her daughters: Rosemary Jessup and her husband Garry of Pleasant and Rita Shelley and her husband David of Pleasant; by her son, Ronald Morton and his wife Darlene of Pleasant; by her grandchildren: Brian Morton and his wife Keisha; Bob Morton and his wife Kristen; Amy Combs and her husband Chad; Andy Jessup and his wife Miriam; Adam Shelley; and Jenna Shelley; by her step-grandchildren: Andrew Haskell and his wife Elyssa; Neal Haskell; and Jacob Haskell.
She will also be dearly missed by her great-grandchildren: Brittany Thayer and her husband Aaron; Kinley and Kalli Morton; Garrett and Shelby Morton; Micah and Christian Jessup; and Kylie and Kierra Combs; her step-great-grandchildren: Casen Haskell, Carter Haskell, Bryan Gonzales and Leilany Gonzales; her great-great-grandchildren: Peyton and Aubrey Thayer; her brother, Kenneth Copeland and his wife Earlene of Benham, Indiana; and her sister, Nancy Clem and her husband Richard of Coatesville, Indiana.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Earl J. and Grace M. (Porter) Copeland; by her husband, Ralph Eugene Morton, who died on January 28th, 2009; by her brothers: Robert, Ross and Francis Copeland; and her sister, Mary Lou Jolly.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, November 17th, 2017, at 11 a.m., by Pastor Chris Clemans, at the Brushy Fork Baptist Church, 12840 Brushy Fork Church Road Canaan, Indiana, 47224. Interment will follow in the Brushy Fork Cemetery.
Friends may call 4-8 p.m. on Thursday, November 16th, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street Vevay, Indiana, 47043; and on Friday, November 17th, from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.

Janet Elaine Field Hazeldean, age 69, of Midlothian, Texas, went to be with the Lord on Friday, November 10th, 2017 at home in Midlothian, with her loving daughter and husband at her side.
Janet entered this life on April 14th, 1948 in Seminole, Texas, the daughter of the late Boyd and Lillian (Renner) Field of Andrews, Texas. She was raised in Andrews and was a 1966 graduate of Andrews High School.
Elaine was united in marriage to William Edward “Ed” Hazeldean on August 12th, 1973 at the First Baptist Church in Lubbock, Texas, having only met each other 10 days prior. To this union arrived one daughter, Abbye Loraine. They enjoyed 45 wonderful and happy years together, residing in multiple cities throughout Texas, but she always considered Houston her home.
She graduated from University of Houston in 1979 with a degree in mathematics. Elaine owned and operated a Private Regulatory Consultancy Agency for more than 30 years, retiring in 2012. She loved Decorative Painting where she remained active in various chapters until 2016, but her greatest passion was her love for her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. In May of 2016, she and her husband moved to Midlothian, Texas, to be closer to their daughter.
Elaine is survived by her husband, Ed Hazeldean of Midlothian, Texas and Daughter Abbye Loraine Hazeldean of Waxahachie, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Boyd and Lillian (Renner) Field; and her sister, Elizabeth Blankenbaker.
Visitation was planned for Monday evening, November 13th, 2017, at Wayne Boze Funeral Home in Waxahachie, Texas. Funeral services were held at Farley Street Baptist Church on Tuesday, November 14th, followed by Interment at Waxahachie City Cemetery.
