Linda Bradley

  Linda Lou Bradley, 77, of Rising Sun, passed away at 6:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 20th, 2022 surrounded by her loving family.

  Linda was born in Lawrenceburg, Indiana on August 17th, 1945, the daughter of the late Jean (Mondary) Buckingham and Leon Lewis.

  Linda married David Lee Bradley on December 17th, 1971. Linda and David were married nearly 46 years until his passing on October 4th, 2017.

  Linda loved to cook and made it her career. She worked at Jack’s Restaurant in Rising Sun and also at Bob Evans and Buffalo’s. In addition to cooking, Linda enjoyed doing crafts, working on puzzles and playing games on her iPad. She adored her dog ‘Margo’, who was one of the family.

  Linda loved spending time on her front porch where family and friends were always welcome. Time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren was something she cherished most.

  Linda is  survived by her two daughters: LeeAnn Uhlman (Steve), of Lawrenceburg, Indiana and Melinda Simpson (Craig), of Dry Ridge, Kentucky; by her two sons: James McAlister (Rena), of Anderson, Ohio and David  Bradley, Jr. (Rhea), of Zionsville, Indiana; by her grandchildren: Tyler, Justin, Kyle, Cole, Kayleigh, Bradley, Aiden, Dallas, Lucas and Logan; by her great-grandchildren: Alayna, Dakota, Zaylee, Camryn and Carter; and by her three sisters: Tina Lewis of Rising Sun, Roganne Lewis-Sanchez of Greendale, Indiana, and Cathy Stowe of Rising Sun.

  Linda was preceded in death by her husband David Lee Bradley; by her father Leon Lewis; by her mother and step-father, Jean and Jerry Buckingham; by her granddaughter Elliot; by her brothers: Mark, Denny, and Billy Lewis; and by her sisters: Lela Lewis, Jessica Ketchem, and Susie McAdams.

  Friends were invited to call on the family on Sunday, October 23rd, at Markland Funeral Home in Rising Sun. Funeral services were held following the time of visitation on Sunday, October 23rd at the funeral home with Eldon Fancher officiating. Burial was at Rising Sun New Cemetery.

  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Loving Hearts Hospice or Phi Beta Psi Sorority.

Antone Cruz, Jr.

  Antone Cruz, Jr., age 77, of Vevay, died at 6:58 a.m. on Friday, October 21st, 2022, at the Norton King’s Daughters’ Hospital in Madison.

  Antone entered this life on December 13th, 1944 in Fall River, Massachusetts. He was the son of the late Antone, Sr. and Mary Irene Lopes Cruz. He was raised in Fall River and attended high school there. He later attended culinary school.

  Antone was blessed to raise four children: Lizabeth, Antone, Tonya, and Kathy-Jo.

  Antone was inducted on February 13th, 1962 in Providence, Rhode Island. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War; in Korea as a medic specialist; and was honorably discharged on July 8th, 1963.

  He worked in sales with surgical glue for several years. Antone moved to Vevay and owned and operated, “Tony’s Restaurant and Store”.

  He was raised Catholic and held membership in the Vevay VFW Post #5396 and the Vevay American Legion Post #185.

  Antone will be missed by his loving daughters: Lizabeth Hawkins and her husband Kevin of Florence, Kentucky, Tonya Cruz and her husband Tim Davis of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Kathy-Jo Cruz and her husband Luke Utter of Louisville, Kentucky; by his loving son, Antone Cruz and his wife Jackie of Newport, Kentucky; by his grandson, Antone Cruz; and by other relatives.

  He was preceded in death by his father, Antone Cruz, Sr.; by his mother, Mary Irene Lopes Cruz; and by his sister, Irene Cruz.

  Antone chose cremation with no service to be held. Morgan & Nay Funeral Centres of Madison and Hanover is serving the family during this difficult time.
