Eugene Scudder, age 68, of Bennington, passed away at 2:47 a.m. on Wednesday, September 25th, 2019, at the Community Hospital East in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Eugene entered this life on August 31st, 1951 in Bennington, the loving son of the late Harold E. and Juanita P. (Swango) Scudder. He was raised in Bennington, and was a 1970 graduate of Switzerland County High School.
Eugene was united in marriage on June 28th, 1976, at the Ruter Chapel United Methodist Church in Vevay, to Mary Lou Hazeldean. Eugene was employed for Morton’s Feed Mill in Pleasant for 12 years. He was later employed as an inspector for Aurora Casket Company, retiring in 2013, after 24 years of service.
He was a member of Markland Baptist Church for several years. Eugene will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Eugene will be missed by his daughter: Kelli Brockman and her husband Donald of Vevay; by his sons: Kevin Scudder and his wife Jill of Van Wert, Ohio and Allen Scudder and his wife Jennifer of Vevay; by his grandchildren: Baylie Scudder, Brady Scudder and his wife Courtney, Bryant Scudder, and Brianna Scudder; by his great-grandson, Grady Scudder; by his step-granddaughters, Liliana and Abby Dietrich; by his sisters: Sharon Chandler of Madison, Bonnie Browning and her husband Dicky of Canaan, Indiana, and Janice Lembach and her husband Creighton of Elk Grove, California; by his brother, Bobby Scudder of Versailles, Indiana; and his several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Harold E. Scudder, who died on July 28th, 2004 and Juanita P. (Swango) Scudder, who died March 27th, 2015; and by his brother-in-law, Roger A. Chandler, who died on May 1st, 2017.
Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, September 28th, by Pastor Casey Banta at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana, 47043. Interment followed in the Zion Cemetery, Bennington.
