Shirley Ann Peelman Marsh, 83, of Shady Nook Nursing Center in Lawrenceburg, Indiana,
Shirley entered this life on March 16th, 1936 in Switzerland County, the loving daughter of the late Frank Edward and Mary Naomi (Fulton) Peelman.
Shirley was united in marriage on December 27th, 1952, in Vevay to Charles Storey Marsh, who passed away December 16th, 1977. They were blessed with four children: Wanda Lou, Betty Ann, Willis Edward and Tina Sue.
Shirley worked as an elementary school teacher’s aide for many years with the Lawrenceburg school system. She loved helping others, playing bingo, working puzzles with her brother Gordon, and spending time with family and friends.
Shirley is survived and will be missed by her children; Betty Bennett and husband Stephen of Surprise, Arizona, Willis Marsh of Lawrenceburg, Indiana, and Tina Jackson and her fiancé Rick Harness of Lawrenceburg, Indiana; by her two brothers: Ron Peelman of Columbia, South Carolina and Gordon Peelman of Lawrenceburg, Indiana; and by her sister, Mary Downing of Vevay.
She is also survived by her grandchildren: Mary Marsh and Willis Marsh Jr. of Lawrenceburg, Indiana, Andra Jackson of Lawrenceburg, Indiana, Joshua Ferreira of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Stephanie Bennett Verdugo of Peoria, Arizona; by several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; by her husband, Charles Storey Marsh; and by her daughter Wanda Lou Marsh Ferreira, who passed away on January 22nd, 2016. Also preceding her in death were her brothers: Eugene Peelman, Bobby Peelman and Chuck Peelman; and her sisters: Virginia Peelman, Betty Tomlinson, Roberta Kearney and Linda Peters.
Family and friends are invited to attend services at Fitch-Denney Funeral Home, 455 Ridge Avenue, Greendale, Indiana, 47025, on Saturday, September 28th, from 5-7 p.m. Burial will follow in the Vevay Cemetery.

Eddie Dale Hopper, 82, of Vevay, passed away on Sunday, September 16th, 2019 at Norton Hospital, Louisville, Kentucky.
Eddie was born on February 8th, 1937 in Patriot, the son of the late Kathleen (Chapman) and Cecil Hopper. Eddie attended school at the Allensville Grade School until the 8th grade. He later went on to obtain a degree in welding and worked for Granite City Steel Company in Granite City, Illinois. Throughout his working career, he was also employed by Adam’s Lumberyard in Fairview, Indiana; and most recently he operated his own lawnmower repair business.
Eddie was a member of the Handyman Club of America and the North American Hunting Club. He enjoyed gardening, mushroom hunting, and was an avid race car fan, and attended the Indy 500 with his brother Dean.
Eddie is survived by his daughter, Paula Smith of New Lisbon, Indiana; by his son Troy (Crystal) Whitham of Salem, Ohio; by his brothers Cecil Hopper Jr. of Cincinnati, Ohio and Michael Hopper of Bright, Indiana; by his sister Barbara Hopper of Columbus, Ohio, by his five grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and three great- great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Eddie is preceded by his grandparents Clarence and Pearl Hopper and Alfred and Artie Chapman; by his brother Dean Hopper; by his stillborn sister Julie; and by an unnamed stillborn sibling.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, September 22nd, at Markland Funeral Home in Rising Sun. Visitation was held on Sunday, September 22nd, prior to the beginning of the services at the funeral home.

James ‘Butch’ Hilligoss
James Robert “Butch” Hilligoss, age 78, of Vevay, passed away at 2:55 p.m. on Friday, September 13th, 2019, at the Swiss Villa Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Vevay.
Butch entered this life on November 26th, 1940, in Lexington, Kentucky. He was the son of the late John Hilligoss and Lucy (Florence) Kirkendall. He was a 1960 graduate of Vevay High School.
Butch was inducted into the United States Air Force on February 14th, 1961, in Indianapolis, Indiana, serving during the Vietnam War. He earned the Good Conduct Medal and was honorably discharged with the rank of Airman First Class on February 12th, 1965, at Ellsworth Air Force Base, South Dakota.
Butch was united in marriage on August 26th, 1961, at the Vevay Church of Christ, to Peggy Jean Pike. This happy union was blessed with three sons and a daughter. Butch and Peggy shared 58 years of marriage together until his death.
Butch was employed for Hide-Away Farms in Florence, Indiana, for 12 years; and for Rexnord in Madison, for three years. He was a member of the Florence Church of Christ. Butch will be remembered for his love of cars, gardening and fishing.
Butch will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Peggy Jean (Pike) Hilligoss of Vevay; by his sons: James Robert “Bobby” Hilligoss, II and his wife Pamela of Florence, Roger Dale Hilligoss of Rising Sun, and Richard Keith Hilligoss and his wife Susan of Vevay; by his daughter, Roxanna Janene Williams and her husband Terry of Elkhart, Indiana; by his 10 grandchildren, his 15 great-grandchildren; by his great- great-grandchild; by his brothers: John William Hilligoss and his wife Joyce of Big Rapids, Michigan and Victor Kirkendall and his wife Loretta Dawn of Haughton, Louisiana; by his mother-in-law, Frances Lorraine (Peters) Pike of Vevay; by his sister-in-law, Shirley Neal of Columbus, Ohio; and by his several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, John Hilligoss and Lucy (Florence) Kirkendall; by his step-father, John Kirkendall; by his sister, Shirley Peelman; by his brother, Joe Kirkendall; by his father-in-law, Ralph Pike; by his brother-in-law, Kenneth Neal; and by his step-granddaughter, Carrie Ann Magyar.
A Celebration of Butch’s life will be held by his family from 2-4 p.m. on Saturday, September 28th, at the Switzerland County 4-H Community Building, 507 Vineyard Street, Vevay, Indiana, 47043.
Full military rites will be conducted at 4 p.m. on Saturday, September 28th, by the Honor Guard of the Vevay American Legion Post #185 and the Vevay VFW Post #5396, at the Community Building.

Ruth Ann Harmon
Ruth Ann (Farrell) Harmon, age 78, of Florence, Indiana, passed away at 6:40 p.m. on Friday, September 20th, 2019 at her residence.
Ruth entered this life on September 6th, 1941 in Jefferson County, Indiana. She was the loving daughter of the late Ernest A. and Ruth Jane (Harris) Farrell. Ruth was raised in Jefferson County, Indiana, where she attended Madison High School.
Ruth was united in marriage on November 2nd, 1957, to Gayle Dean Harmon in Carrollton, Kentucky. They were blessed with a son, Timothy Gayle; and three daughters: Lisa, Pam and Debbie. Ruth and Gayle shared nearly 62 years of marriage together until her passing.
She had resided in Switzerland County since 1957 and was a wonderful homemaker. Ruth enjoyed playing bingo, raising her family and watching the Cincinnati Reds.
Ruth will be missed by her husband, Gayle Dean Harmon of Florence; by her son, Timothy Gayle “Tim” Harmon, Sr. and his wife Leanna of Florence; by her daughters: Lisa K. Claypoole and her husband George of Florence, Pam Mays and her husband Marv of Florence, and Debbie Cunningham of Florence; by her son-in-law, Raymond Cunningham of Florence; by her grandchildren: Robbie Cunningham (Dietra), Sean Cunningham (Tasha), Jennifer DeBaun (Daniel), Jessica Nace (Rob), Amanda Beuther, Liz Harmon, Tammy Claypoole (John), Karissa Kietzman, Misty Dunn, Jeremy Romans (Crystal), Tara Romans (Casey) and Tiffany Claypoole (Alex); by her 23 great-grandchildren and eight great- great-grandchildren; by her sisters: Mildred Callahan and her husband Jim of Vevay and Norma Batts and her husband Dewayne of Madison; by her brothers: Doug Farrell of Vevay and Danny Farrell of Vevay; and her several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest A. and Ruth Jane (Harris) Farrell; by her grandsons, Timothy Gayle “Timmy” Harmon, Jr., who died on April 16th, 2015, Justin William Claypoole, who died on July 13th, 1997, and Jeremy Kenneth Beuther, who died on January 17th, 2016; by her daughter-in-law, Jill Ann (Davis) Harmon, who died on May 4th, 2006; by her son-in-law, Mike Ferguson, who died on November 4th, 2010; by her brother, Marion Wilson; and by her sisters: Alleyne Powell, Marcella Barnett and Linda Skirvin.
Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday, September 24th, by Reverend Mike Jones, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043. Interment followed in the Vevay Cemetery. Friends were invited to call on the family on Tuesday, September 24th, prior to the beginning of the services at the funeral home.
