Patricia ‘Pat’ Jones
Patricia Lee “Pat” (Roland) Jones, age 75, of Patriot, passed away at 10:35 a.m. on Wednesday, September 7th, 2022, at the St. Elizabeth Dearborn Hospital in Lawrenceburg, Indiana.
Pat entered this life on February 19th, 1947 in Manhattan, New York. She was the daughter of the late Floyd and Marie (Williams) Roland. She was raised in Vevay and was a graduate of Vevay High School.
Pat was united in marriage on September 19th, 1962 to Joseph “Paul” Jones in Switzerland County. Pat and Paul shared 29 years of marriage together until he passed away on September 10th, 1991.
Pat was employed in laundry for the Dearborn County Hospital and was later employed in the cafeteria and the snack bar for several years. Pat enjoyed shopping, especially QVC, playing bingo and spending time with her granddaughter and great-grandchildren.
Pat will be deeply missed by her daughter, Lolita “Kay” Hess of East Enterprise; by her granddaughter, Heather Hess and her fiancé Nijay McKinley of Greendale, Indiana; and by her great-grandchildren: Lacie Thompson, Brogan Wynn and Honour McKinley.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Marie (Williams) Roland; and by her husband, Joseph “Paul” Jones.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 14th, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana, 47043.
Funeral services were conducted following the time of visitation on Wednesday, September 14th, by Reverend Mike Jones, at the funeral home. Interment followed in the Vevay Cemetery.

Rhonda Knigga
Rhonda Carol Knigga, 57, of Bear Branch Indiana passed away on September 3rd, 2022 at St. Elizabeth Dearborn Hospital in Lawrenceburg Indiana.
Rhonda was born on June 18th, 1965, the daughter of Gloria Jean and Carrol Dean Knigga. She was a life-long resident of Bear Branch. She graduated from Rising Sun High School in May of 1983.
Rhonda was a Child Care/Preschool Teacher at Cradles To Crayons in Lawrenceburg Indiana for over 15 years. She took great pride in her classroom and the children she cared for in the community. She retired in 2015 to provide child care for her family.
Rhonda adored all of her nieces and nephews and took great joy in helping raise them. She was a voracious reader and a collector of books. She enjoyed all types of music and was an avid Keith Urban fan.
She is survived by her parents: Gloria and Carrol Dean Knigga; by her brother, Brian Knigga; by her sister, Kimberly Hess; by her nieces: Sheena Graham (Brian), Marissa Hess and Kamryn Hess; by her nephews: Josh Knigga and Jacob Hess; by her great niece, Annabelle Keaney; and by her great nephews: Jackson Graham, Grayson Graham and Dean Knigga.
Memorial services were held on September 9th at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Bear Branch.

Roberta Owings
Roberta Lee (Smith) Owings, age 93, of near Pleasant, Indiana, passed away at 6:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 10th, 2022, at her residence.
Roberta entered this life on September 6th, 1929 in Patriot. She was raised in Patriot and was a 1947 graduate of Patriot High School.
Roberta was united in marriage on May 17th, 1947 to Edward William Owings in the Patriot Parsonage. This happy union of over 58 years was blessed with three children.
Roberta was a wonderful homemaker and was the former assistant postmistress for the Bennington Post Office for several years. She was a member of the Bennington Order of Eastern Star Chapter No. 407 and the Brushy Fork Baptist Church.
Roberta enjoyed cooking, baking pies, gardening and reading.
Roberta will be missed by her sons: Kenneth Owings and his wife Joyce of Madison and Robert Owings and his wife Kathy of Vevay; by her daughter, Nancy Owings of Pleasant; by her grandchildren: Sarah, Kenny, Tanner, Amanda, Evan and Ryan; by her great-grandchildren: Reed, Gabe, Zoe, Will, Ben, Mica, Shelby and Delilah; and by her nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Robert Edward Smith and Irene R. (Armstrong) Smith; by her husband, Edward William Owings; by her sister, Ruth M. Robinson; and by her brothers: Raymond E. Smith and Larry J. Smith.
Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, September 15th, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana, 47043. Eastern Star Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. on Thursday, September 15th, at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 16th, by Pastor Chris Clemans at the Brushy Fork Baptist Church, 12840 East Brushy Fork Road, Canaan, Indiana, 47224.
Interment will follow in the Pleasant Cemetery.

Linda Wood
Linda Lee Gotts Wood, age 61, of Madison, was found deceased at 5:26 a.m. on Sunday, September 4th, 2022, after the flash flooding near her home near Madison.
Linda entered this life on December 4th, 1960 in Traverse City, Michigan. She was the loving daughter of Robert Gotts and the late Marjorie Ann Bryan Gotts. She was raised in Friendship, Indiana and attended South Ripley High School.
In May of 1985, Linda was united in Marriage to Anthony “Tony” Wood. This marriage was blessed to raise three sons: Derek Ray, Joshua Allen, and Anthony Shane.
She was a homemaker most of her life. Linda worked for Longaberger as a weaver, UPS in Versailles, and as a nurse’s aide for several years. Linda also went with her husband Tony when he drove the semi and traveled around the country. Linda drove for the Amish and enjoyed her conversations and time with them.
She loved reading, traveling with her husband, swimming in her pool, and her ponies. She enjoyed being with her family and loved when they would come over. She was of the Christian faith and read her Bible daily. Linda was a devoted wife, mother, grandma, sister, and aunt.
Linda will be missed by her loving husband, Anthony Clyde “Tony” Wood of Manville, Indiana; by her sons, Derek Ray Gotts and his wife Joanne of Madison, Joshua Allen Gotts of Versailles, Indiana, and Anthony Shane Wood and his companion Amy of Madison; by her grandchildren: Joshua Wesley Gotts, Kyle Gotts, John Henry Gotts, Autumn Gail Wood, and Lennon Wood; by her father, Robert Gotts of Madison; by her sisters: Kathryn Clayton and her husband Tim of Commiskey, Indiana and Susan Sizemore of Madison; by her brothers: Thomas Gotts and his wife Sandy of Arlington, Washington and David Gotts and his wife Melissa of North Vernon, Indiana; by her sisters-in-law: Connie Barker and her husband Scott of Washington, Penny Marie Hernandez of Madison, Julia Jarrell and her husband Phillip of Louisiana, and Alma Hanaway of North Vernon, Indiana; and by her nieces and nephews: Tim Jr., Neil, Rosie, Alec, Jordan, Roger, Michaela, Tucker, Logan, Crystal, Adriano, Bradley, Lylia, Ava, Marissa, Esmeralda, Kimberlee, Ximena, Kiera, Emily, and Mia.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Marjorie Ann Bryan Gotts, who died on December 31st, 2013, and by her niece, Tabitha Ann Doss Flores, who died on May 12th, 2019.
Friends were invited to call on the family on Tuesday, September 13th and on Wednesday, Steptember 14th at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana.
Funeral services were conducted on Wednesday, September 14th following the time of visitation, at the funeral home. Interment followed in the Hebron Cemetery near Madison.
