Susan Marie Hess, 59, of Aurora, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, July 25th, 2020 at University of Cincinnati hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Susan was born Friday, December 23rd, 1960 in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, the daughter of the late Ronnie and Patricia (Hizer) Hess.
Susan formerly worked at Rising Star Casino Hotel in Rising Sun, as a room attendant; and currently worked at Highpoint Health in Lawrenceburg, Indiana as an Environmental Services Tech.
She attended Holmes Hill Church of Christ in Aurora, Indiana. She loved her children and grandchildren very much. She also enjoyed her horses, her property, her collection of purses and shoes.
Susan is survived by her daughter, Jennifer (Blake) Wright of Lawrenceburg, Indiana; by her son, Tyler (Kayla) Griffin of Aurora, Indiana; by her daughter Sarah (Caleb) Shannon of Bear Branch, Indiana; by her brothers: Tim (Deborah) Hess of Bear Branch, Indiana and Dennis Hess of Batesville, Indiana; by her sister Joann (Kenny) Niccum of Rising Sun; and by her four grandchildren: Eva, Griffin, Lincoln and Krue.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Ronnie and Patricia (Hizer) Hess; by her brother, David; and by her sister, Kim.
Friends are invited to call on the family on Thursday, July 30th, from 1-3 p.m. at Holmes Hill Church of Christ, 10061 Old State Route 56, Aurora, Indiana, 47001. The funeral will follow the time of visitation at the church beginning at 3 p.m.

Roy ‘Red’ Keith
Roy Armond “Red” Keith, age 77, of Vevay, passed away at 9:06 p.m. on Saturday, July 25th, 2020, at the Norton Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.
He entered this life on July 8th, 1943 in Allensville, Indiana. He was the son of the late James Wilford and Avis O. (Chase) Keith. Red was raised in Switzerland County, and was a 1961 graduate of Vevay High School.
Roy was employed for the U.S. Shoe Factory in Vevay, for a few years. Red was inducted into the United States Army on February 2nd, 1965 in Louisville, Kentucky. He earned the Marksman (Rifle), National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. Roy returned from overseas and was transferred to the United States Army Reserves on January 20th, 1967 at Fort Hamilton, New York. He was honorably discharged with the rank of Specialist 4th Class on February 1st, 1971.
Roy was united in marriage on August 26th, 1978 in Vevay, to Barbara Jean Darbro. This happy union was blessed with a son Derrick. Red and Barbara shared nearly 42 years of marriage together until his death.
He was employed in 1967 for Reliance Electric in Madison, retiring in 2005 after 38 years of service. He was a former member of the Vevay VFW Post #5396 and the Vevay American Legion Post #185. Red enjoyed listening to country music, being outdoors, fishing, playing solitaire and visiting with his family.
Roy will be missed by his loving wife, Barbara Jean (Darbro) Keith of Vevay; by his son, Derrick Keith of Vevay; by his sister, Sarah M. McCreary of Allensville, Indiana; by his brother, Jonas Keith of Milan, Indiana; by his sisters-in-law: Martha Keith of Center Square, Indiana and Ruth Ann Keith of Dillsboro, Indiana; and his numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents: James Wilford and Avis O. (Chase) Keith; by his brothers: Denver, Albert Wayne, Hubert Welsey, Kirby, Paul Dean, Clifford, Leon, Wilford “Junior” and Larry Keith, by his sisters, Juanita Koons and Hazel Knaus; and by his infant brother and infant sister.
Friends may call 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, July 31st, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana, 47043. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, July 31st, at 1 p.m., by Brother Anthony Wilks at the funeral home.
Due to COVID-19 and in keeping with the CDC guidelines, masks are required along with social distancing at the visitation and the funeral service.
Interment and full military rites will be conducted by the Honor Guard of the Vevay American Legion Post #185 and the Vevay VFW Post #5396 in the New Liberty Cemetery in East Enterprise.

Dennis Wayne Powers, age 60, of Bloomington, Indiana, formerly of Switzerland County, passed away on Friday July 24th, 2020, at the IU Health Hospital in Bloomington, Indiana.
He entered this life on October 23rd, 1959 in Madison. He was the loving son of the late Albert Owen “Buster” Powers, Sr. and Jerri A. (Scranton) Powers. He was raised in Switzerland County, and was a 1979 graduate of Switzerland County High School.
He studied astronomy at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana.
Dennis was united in marriage to Annetta “Bernice” Kee in Tennessee. Dennis and Bernice shared several years of marriage together until she passed away on January 15th, 2019.
Dennis was employed as the manager for Bob Evans for four years and was a manager for York Steak House for a few years in Bloomington, Indiana. He was employed in food and beverage for a nursing home in Bloomington, Indiana. Dennis was also employed as the food service director for Garden Villa Nursing Home in Bloomington, Indiana, retiring after several years of service due to his health.
Dennis enjoyed fishing, looking at the stars and was an avid ‘Star Trek’ fan and collecting memorabilia.
Dennis is survived by his sister, Dianna Powers of Vevay; by his brothers: Albert O. Powers, Jr. and his wife Angela of Vevay, Mark Powers and his wife Patty of Madison, and Michael Powers and his wife Kandy of Madison; by his nieces and nephews: Ashley Powers, Emily Lovins, Braxton Powers, Coltin Powers, Amber Powers, Andrew Powers and Courtney Powers; by his great-nieces and great-nephews: Harlan, Woodrow and Reba; by his aunts and uncles: Lulu Belle and Donald Thomas of Patriot, Ruby Delores Rowlett of Madison, Donnie and Wanda Scranton of Fairview, Indiana, and Harold and Louisa Scranton of Fairview, Indiana; by his several cousins; by his step-children: Kim Kent of Bloomington, Indiana and Kath Kent and her wife Shaunte McCool-Kent of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Robert Joseph Gilbert of Bloomington, Indiana; and by his eight step-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Albert Owen “Buster” Powers, Sr. and Jerrie A. (Scranton) Powers; by his wife, Annetta “Bernice” (Kee) Powers; by his niece, Danielle Nicole Powers; by his step-son, Douglas Steven Gilbert; and by several aunts and uncles.
Friends may call from 5-7 p.m. on Monday, August 3rd, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana, 47043. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, August 3rd, at 7 p.m., by Pastor Joe Lamson, at the funeral home.
Graveside Services will be conducted at the cemetery chapel on Tuesday, August 4th, at 1 p.m. at the Valhalla Memory Gardens, 310 North Johnson Avenue, Bloomington, Indiana, 47404.
