Nona Adams
Nona (Grigsby) Adams, age 92, of Fairview, Indiana, passed away at 5:45 a.m. on Thursday, January 26th, 2023 at The Waters of Clifty Falls in Madison.
Nona was born on October 8th, 1930 in Perry County, Kentucky. At the age of six with her parents, one sister and six brothers moved to Ripley County, Indiana. She graduated from Cross Plains High School in 1948.
In January 1947, Nona was united in marriage to Robert Lee Adams in Aurora, Indiana. This union of 49 years was blessed with two sons.
Nona retired in 1998 from Seagram’s in Lawrenceburg, Indiana where she was employed for 42 years. They moved from Versailles to Fairview in 1952 where she spent the remainder of her life.
In her spare time, she loved working outside in the yard with her flowers and garden.
Nona was a member of Fairview United Methodist Church.
Nona leaves to mourn her passing her son, Kenneth Adams and his wife Saundra of Fairview, Indiana; her grandson, Shane Adams and his wife Natalie; her granddaughter Crystala Adams; and her several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son, Donald Lee Adams, who died on February 24th, 2000; by her parents: Monroe and Susie (Noble) Grigsby; by her sister, Burley Grigsby; by her brothers: Luke, William, Lee, Ned, Alonzo and Herbert Grigsby; and by her companion of 22 years, Donald R. “Dough Ball” Meyer.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, February 4th, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana, 47043.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Saturday, February 4th, by Pastor Keith Allhands, at the funeral home.
Interment will follow in the Vevay Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Fairview United Methodist Church or St. Jude Children’s Research. Cards are available at the funeral home.
Phyllis Bush
Phyllis Ann (Buschmann) Bush, age 84, of Vevay, unexpectedly passed away at 10:45 a.m. on Monday, January 30th, 2023 at the Swiss Villa Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Vevay.
Phyllis entered this life on August 15th, 1938 in Switzerland County, Indiana. She was the daughter of the late William Louis “Bill” and Hazel Mae (Scott) Buschmann. She was raised in Vevay, and was a 1956 graduate of Vevay High School.
Phyllis attended Ivy Tech Community College in Madison, Indiana for one year studying upholstery, body work and painting vehicles.
Phyllis was united in marriage on October 25th, 1958 to Harlan Denton “Denny” Bush, Jr. in Madison. This happy union of nearly 49 years was blessed with a daughter, Christy; and a son, Denton.
Phyllis was employed for the US Shoe Factory in Vevay from 1957-1958. In February 1962, she was employed for Reliance Electric in Madison, retiring in July of 1992 after 30 years of service. She also worked for the Switzerland County Welcome Center for several years.
Phyllis was a lifetime member of the Switzerland County Historical Society and had a passion for genealogy. She was also a member of Union Baptist Church in Lamb, Indiana.
Phyllis enjoyed writing in her numerous journals throughout her life, reading, crocheting, gardening and canning. She loved a good sip of Coke, as well as tending to her flowers and spending time with family. Phyllis had a fondness for animals, especially cats and dogs.
Phyllis will be missed by her daughter, Christy Morgan and her husband Dan of Lamb, Indiana; by her grandchildren: Danna Morgan, Sarah Morgan and her fiancé Brandon Alexander, Emily Bush and Kelsey Bush; by her great-grandchildren: Mason of Vevay, Kylan of Vevay, and Bree and Brady of Madison; by her granddaughters by heart, Nicki Beckham and Lacy Brawner; by her special friends: Sandy McCormick of Madison and Miranda and Emilee Mangold of Vevay; by her numerous cousins and friends; by her great-niece, Renee Prothero and her husband Michael of Yuba City, California and their son Ryan Prothero and his wife Danielle of Setagaya, Tokyo.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harlan Denton “Denny” Bush, Jr., who died on July 6th, 2007; by her son, Denton William Bush, who died on February 11th, 2021; by her parents: William Louis “Bill” Buschmann, who died on December 20th, 1991 and Hazel Mae (Scott) Buschmann, who died on March 5th, 1989; and by her father-in-law and mother-in-law: Harlan D. Bush, Sr., who died on April 4th, 1987 and Christine Bush, who died on September 13th, 1990.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, February 3rd, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana, 47043.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Friday, February 3rd, by Reverend Mike Barnes, at the funeral home.
Interment will follow in the Grandview Memorial Gardens in Madison, Indiana.

Raymond McFadden
Raymond D. McFadden, age 82, of Vevay, formerly of Anderson, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, January 22nd, 2023 at the Norton King’s Daughters’ Hospital in Madison.
Raymond was born in Anderson, Indiana on June 1st, 1940, the son of the late Clarence and Dorothy (Lietcher) McFadden.
He retired after serving as a firefighter for the Anderson Fire Department for 30 years.
In his spare time, he enjoyed golfing and playing table shuffleboard, and was a former member of the American Legion in Madison and in Patriot, and AMVETS.
His life will be cherished by his sons: Jeffrey McFadden and his wife Joy, and Gregory McFadden — all of Anderson; by his grandchildren: Justin McFadden, Brittney Ehinola, Landon Hoppes, Jerry Stewart, and Katie Hoppes; and by his several great-children.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Michelle Hoppes.
In accordance with his wishes, there will be no services.

Raymond ‘Butch’ Scott
Raymond Kenneth “Butch” Scott, age 83, of Vevay, passed away at 2:00 a.m. on Friday, January 27th, 2023 at his residence.
He was raised in Switzerland County where he attended school.
Butch was united in marriage on August 15th, 1960 to Shirley L. Scudder in Vevay. This union of over 62 years was blessed with three children: Debra, Connie and Michael.
Butch was employed as a cementer and sole layer for the U.S. Shoe Factory, retiring in 1997 after over 37 years of service.
He was a member of the Vevay Church of Christ and also served as a Deacon.
Butch was also a member of Fur Takers of America Chapter 7G of Charlestown, Indiana. Butch was a commercial fisherman in the Ohio River for many years. In his spare time, Butch enjoyed hunting, trapping and fishing.
Butch will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Shirley L. (Scudder) Scott of Vevay; by his daughter, Connie Christman and her husband David of Vevay; by his son, Michael Scott of Vevay; by his son-in-law, Timothy Hoyt of Atwater, California; by his grandchildren: Jessica Hoyt and her husband Joshua Danel, Michala Hoyt and her fiancé Christopher, and McKenzie Hoyt and her husband Danny Hernandez — all of Merced, California; by his nieces and nephews; and by his sister-in-law, Betty Scott of Merced, California.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Debra Sue “Debbie” Hoyt, who died on July 19th, 2000; by his parents: Clinton Earl Scott, Sr., who died on December 27th, 1972 and Carrie Leo (Romans) Scott, who died on March 15th, 1984; by his brothers: Nelson Wayne Scott, who died on December 3rd, 1992 and Clinton “Scotty” Scott, Jr., who died on December 26th, 2016; by his sisters: Patricia Ann “Patsey” Scudder, who died on February 10th, 2008, Carolyn Lou Stevenson, who died on August 20th, 2018 and Aldean Jividen, who died on September 24th, 2020; by his sister-in-law, Lucille N. (Knaus) Scott, who died on November 3rd, 2011; by his brothers-in-law: Leslie “Lee” Scudder, who died on July 31st, 2007 and Loren Lee Jividen, who died on December 16th, 2005; by his nephew, Private Timothy G. Scudder, who died on February 23rd, 1977; and by his nieces: Susan Lynn Scudder, who died in 1953 and Cynthia F. (Jividen) Jones, who died on November 13th, 2018.
Visitation was held on Monday, January 30th, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana, 47043.
Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday, January 31st, by Pastor Shawn McMullen at the funeral home.
Interment followed in the Vevay Cemetery.
