A Halloween tradition is Vevay is gone.
At least for one year.
It was announced this week that there will not be a Halloween Parade in the town of Vevay this year. For decades, there has been a parade of costumed children and adults along Main Street prior to the beginning of Trick or Treating in town. Officials with Switzerland County Tourism and the Town of Vevay have announced that there will be no parade this year.
Town of Vevay Clerk-Treasurer Donna Graham-Knaus has announced that there will still be trick or treating in town, and that will be held on Saturday, October 29th, from 6-8 p.m.
In Patriot, trick or treating will be held on Monday, October 31st, from 6-8 p.m.
Riverview Baptist Church will be holding a ‘trunk or treat’ event at their church, located at 1341 Spring Branch Road just west of Vevay, on Friday, October 28th, from 6-8 p.m.
The Moorefield Volunteer Fire Department will also be holding a ‘trunk or treat’, and it will be held on Saturday, October 22nd at the firehouse. That will be from 7-9 p.m.
