Indiana 4-H has adopted a new data management system that is being implemented for the 2015 4-H program year; and one segment of this new system is youth member enrollment.
This year, youth member enrollment for those wanting to be a part of the 2015 Switzerland County 4-H program will begin in November, 2014.
The major difference between this new data management system, ‘4HOnline’, and the current system is that 4-H families will have to create their own login and password which will be used multiple times throughout the year to communicate and transfer information to their local Purdue Extension Office, such as a change of email or mailing address; registering for state and county events; and receiving newsletters and other pertinent information.
Additionally, this system will allow approved 4-H adult volunteers to better communicate with youth members and their families.
Beginning this year, all families wishing to have their youth participate in Indiana’s 4-H Youth Development Program are to enroll between November 1st, 2014 and January 15th, 2015. This enrollment window is the same for all counties.
Doing so allows local Purdue Extension staff and volunteers to provide year-round educational programs and events.
All youth and approved adult volunteers in the same household will create and submit individual member profiles from this family account. After the youth member information has been submitted, you will receive an email notifying you of the enrollment status.
This process must be completed no later than January 15th, 2015. The site may be accessed beginning this Saturday, November 1st, at: https://in/4honline.com.
There is a state fee of $15 per 4-H member in grades 3-12, with a maximum of three fees per family. This fee may be paid online or in the extension office. There is also a $5 fee per mini 4-H member in grades 1-2, and a $5 fee for those taking the shooting sports project.
The mini 4-H fee and the shooting sports fee can only be paid in the extension office. Project manuals and materials will be picked up in the extension office.
Family that do not have Internet access should contact the extension office for a paper enrollment form. Paper enrollment forms are also due by January 15th, 2015.
Anyone having questions or needing more information may contact Peg Ehlers or Kyle Weaver at the Switzerland County Extension office at 427-3152; or via email at email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org.
