National Junior Honor Society holds induction ceremony for new members


The Switzerland County Middle School chapter of the National Honor Society held its induction ceremony for new members on Tuesday night, with 25 new members earning inclusion in the society.

Current honor society member Olivia Hewitt introduced the new inductees as they entered the ceremony; and the welcome was given by current society member Jennifer Johnson.

Following the Pledge of Allegiance; the induction ceremony was conducted by current officers Olivia Hewitt, Rachel Whitham, Emily White, Lauren Edwards, and Paige Freeman.

After the new members were officially inducted, Jill Hutcherson of Patriot was the guest speaker for the occasion; and her remarks were followed by congratulatory comments by middle school Principal Nancy Stearns.

New members inducted on Tuesday night included: Victoria Abbott, Mackenzie Anderson, Cayli Chase, Demetrie Colen, Erika Coy, Kirsten Furnish, Robin Furnish, Kaylee Gregory, Kayla Hall, Lauren Haskell, Hunter Jordan, Kyle Konkle, Briana Meli, Mercedes Parham, Rheadawn Powell, Shelby Prince, Breanna Ricketts, Alexis Snider, Christian Stogsdill, Tess Stoops, Bob Tressler, Cayla Yocum, Candace Cox, Samantha Reynolds, and Carley West.
