The swim team from Switzerland County Middle School continues to have an outstanding season.
Last Thursday, February 21st, the swim team had an exciting meet against Madison and despite a 70-69 loss the team had some great swims.
School records continue to fall this year – with two more going down in Thursday’s meet. Colton Penick established a new 50-yard butterfly record; and Nick Braun had a record-breaking swim in the 50-yard breaststroke.
There were plenty of other impressive swims:
– Nathan Braun bested his 200-yard freestyle time by 26-seconds.
– Ally Furnish swam her first-ever 200-yard freestyle swim, and earned first place with a time under three minutes.
– Other best times posted were: Shae Lack in the 100-yard intermediate medley and the 50-yard breaststroke; Kelsey Kerkoff in the 100-yard freestyle and the 50-yard backstroke; Cameron Papucci and Alex Edwards in both the 50-yard backstroke and the 50-yard freestyle; Corey Profitt and Kaitlyn Lack in 50-yard freestyle and the 100-yard freestyle; and Deanna Voris in 100-yard intermediate medley and the 50-yard butterfly.
