The Switzerland County Middle School girls track team earned the championship of the Vevay Newspapers Invitational last Friday night at the Pacer track.
The Lady Pacers won the event with a score of 56; followed by Southwestern with 48; Rising Sun with 45; and Jac-Cen-Del with 35.
Individually, Eve Galbreath won the 100-meter hurdles in a time of :17.26; Megan Dasis won the 100-meter dash in a time of :13.68; Jade Mullins won the 800-meter run with a time of 2:47.12; and the 400-meter relay team of Megan Dasis, Courtney Pedraza, Adeli Kinne, and Jade Mullins won in a time of :58.14.
Earning second places were Eve Galbreath in the shot put and 400-meter dash; Megan Dasis in the long jump and 200-meter dash; and Cameron Ray in the 1,600-meter run.
Third place points were earned by Jade Mullins in the high jump and Courtney Pedraza in the 100-meter dash.
