The Switzerland County Middle School boys track team capped off its season on Monday night by finishing second overall in the ORVC Conference Meet.
The meet was held at South Ripley; and Rising Sun won the conference title with a team score of 145; followed by the Pacers with 99 points.
South Ripley and Madison Shawe tied for third with 42 points each; followed by Southwestern with 24; Jac-Cen-Del with 15; and Milan with three.
Switzerland County did not have any individual champions, but Coach Shaun Holiday was still pleased with his team’s effort not only in the conference meet, but throughout the season.
- Second place finishes were earned by: Nick Braun in the 110-meter hurdles; Brody Splain in the 100-meter dash and the 200-meter dash; Hunter Hayes in the discus, the long jump, and the high jump; and Brad Rickett in the shot put.
Also finishing second was the 400-meter relay team of Tristan Griffis, Cory Proffitt, Justin Chatham, and Brody Splain.
– Third place points were earned by Hunter Hayes in the 400-meter dash; Kyle Whitham in the discus; and the 1,600-meter relay team of Cameron Papucci, Nick Braun, Cory Proffitt, and Nathan Braun.
– Fourth places were earned by Justin Chatham in the 100-meter dash; Cory Proffitt in the shot put; and Max Anders in the high jump.
– Fifth places were earned by Cameron Papucci in the 800-meter run and Tristan Griffis in the 200-meter dash; and sixth place points were earned by Nick Braun in the 400-meter dash.
