The Switzerland County Middle School boys track team finished third overall in Monday’s ORVC meet.
South Ripley won the meet with a team score of 85; followed by Milan with 79 and Switzerland County with 77. Jac-Cen-Del had 59 points; Southwestern had 46; Rising Sun finished with 15; and Shawe had 11.
Switzerland County got a first place effort from Damien Breeck, who won the 400-meter dash in a time of 1:00.28; and from Tre Batchelor, who won the long jump with a distance of 16’1″. Dathan Brown also captured first place in the 110-meter hurdles in a time of :18.99.
The 400-meter relay team of Arron Jones, Brown, Breeck, and Batchelor also brought home blue ribbons with a time of :51.94.
Second place finishes were earned by Batchelor in the 100-meter dash and the 200-meter dash; and Breeck in the long jump.
Aaron Scudder was third in the 1,600-meter run;
Scudder was fifth in the 800-meter run, Ben Hicks was fifth in the 1,600-meter run; Brown was sixth in the shot put, Jones was sixth in the high jump; John Goldsberry was seventh in the 100-meter dash and the 200-meter dash, Aiden Day was seventh in the high jump; Damian Sawyer was eighth in the shot up, Sam Richards was eighth in the discus; Hicks was 10th in the 800-meter run; Kyzick Byrum was 11th in the 400-meter dash, and Sawyer was 11th in the discus.
