Two of the three seats on the Switzerland County Commission were up for election on Tuesday, but only one of the seats had a contested race.
Democrat H. Craig Bond, the current Commissioner in District Two, was unopposed for reelection. He received 2,399 votes on Tuesday. District Two consists of Posey and York Townships.
In District One, incumbent Republican Brian Morton held off a challenge by Democrat Danny Hehe to win another four year term. District One consists of Jefferson and Craig Townships.
With all precincts reporting, Brian Morton won by a total of 1,847 (52-percent) to Danny Hehe’s 1,727 (48-percent).
In the county’s closest dual race of the day, Brian Morton won seven precincts on his way to another four-year term: Cotton II, Craig I, Craig II, Jefferson III, Pleasant I, Pleasant II, and Posey II.
Danny Hehe won five precincts: Cotton I, Jefferson I, Jefferson II, Posey I, and York.
The third member of the County Commission, Republican K.C. Banta, in District Three (Pleasant and Cotton Townships) is half way through a four-year term.
Brian Morton and Craig Bond will begin four-year terms on January 1st.
