Middle School soccer team sweeps Raiders

The Switzerland County Middle School soccer team completed its first season sweep of South Ripley in over five years by beating the Raiders 3-2 on their home field last Thursday night.

The Pacers struck quickly in the first half on a goal by Jordan Bledsoe.

The Raiders then took advantage of defensive miscues by the Pacers to take the lead for a halftime score of 2-1; but the second half belonged to the Pacers, as they took control of the game on both ends of the field.

Anthony Dasis led the offense in the second half scoring two goals. Walter Barnes had two assists in the game.

Outstanding performances were put on by midfielders Bre Ricketts, Luke Haskell, Josh Yeary, Kaitlin Mukadam, Moriah McFarland and Nathaniel Christerson.

Another solid defensive effort was put on by Logan Todd, Lensi Parham, Steven Craig, Logan Pike and Lauren Haskell.

The soccer team from Switzerland County Middle School took on Southwestern on Monday night, with both teams battling to a 0-0 tie.

Coach Kyle Weaver said that the Pacer defense was strong all night, allowing only seven shots on goal.

Offensively, Switzerland County’s Jordan Bledsoe and Anthony Dasis each had four shots on goal.
