Middle School girls track earns two wins

The girls track team from Switzerland County Middle School had two meets last week, wining both events.

Last Tuesday, the Lady Pacers defeated South Ripley in a dual meet by a score of 61-38

First place points were earned by Emma Giglio, who won the 100-meter hurdles in a time of :19.59; Maggie Clayton, who won the 400-meter dash in a time of 1:09; Leah Anders, who won the 800-meter run in a time of 2:57; and McKenli Scudder, who won the long jump with a distance of 12’2″.

Also winning their event was the 1,600-meter relay team of Maggie Clayton, Leah Anders, Zoe Cole, and Keirstan Oeffinger, who won in a time of 5:26.

Second places were earned by Brooklyn Lustig in the 100-meter hurdles; McKenli Scudder in the 100-meter dash and the 200-meter dash; Keirstan Oeffinger in the 1,600-meter run; Lily Lockwood in the 400-meter dash; Rylee Hankins in the long jump; Sydney Thomas in the shot put; Emma Giglio in the high jump; and Ariel Oeffinger in the discus.

The 400-meter relay team of McKenli Scudder, Leah Anders, Emma Giglio, and Leila Day also finished second overall.

Third places were earned by Leah Anders in the 100-meter dash; Aleiah Thomas in the 1,600-meter run; Keirstan Oeffinger in the 400-meter dash; Maggie Clayton in the 800-meter run; Caitlyn Lack in the high jump; Korah Ferguson in the shot put; Leila Day in the long jump; and Katie Lustig in the discus.

On Thursday, the Lady Pacers (53) defeated Jac-Cen-Del (47) and St. Louis (26) in a three-way meet.

In that meet, first places were earned by Emma Giglio in the 100-meter hurdles in a time of :19.9; Leah Anders won the 800-meter run in a time of 2:51; McKenli Scudder in the long jump with a distance of 12’5″; and the 1,600-meter relay team of Maggie Clayton, Leah Anders, Zoe Cole, and Leila Day who won in a time of 5:02.

Second place points were earned by Leah Anders in the 100-meter dash; Maggie Clayton in the 400-meter dash; McKenli Scudder in the 200-meter dash; and the 400-meter relay team of McKenli Scudder, Leah Anders, Emma Giglio, and Sydney Thomas.

Third places were earned by McKenli Scudder in the 100-meter dash; Keirstan Oeffinger in the 1,600-meter run; Lily Lockwood in the 400-meter dash; Maggie Clayton in the 800-meter run; Leila Day in the long jump; Emma Giglio in the high jump; and Ariel Oeffinger in the discus.
