Middle School boys win ORVC title

The Switzerland County Middle School boys cross country team captured the championship of the Ohio River Valley Conference during Monday’s conference meet.

The boys earned the championship with a team total of 40; followed by Jac-Cen-Del in second place with a total of 67.

South Ripley was third with 72 points; Southwestern was fourth with 82; and Rising Sun was fifth with 89. Milan and Madison Shawe did not have enough runners to post a team score.

Individually, Pacer Talen Taylor was the overall winner of the meet in a time of 11:30. Matt Yocum finished eighth overall in a time of 12:56; Bralen Harsin was 10th overall in a time of 12:59; and Charlie Reynolds was 12th in a time of 13:12.

All four boys earned All Conference honors for their top 12 finishes.

Michael Scott was 13th for Switzerland County in a time of 13:16; Austin South was 17th in a time of 13:49; and Casper Stow was 19th in a time of 14:02.

The girls team wrapped up their season with a third place finish in the conference meet.

South Ripley won the title with a team score of 26; followed by Jac-Cen-Del with 62 and Switzerland County with 84. Southwestern had 103; Madison Shawe finished with 130; Rising Sun had 139; and Milan had 150.

McKayli Scudder led the way for the Lady Pacers, running her way to an 11th place finish in a time of 14:26. She was followed by Cameron Ray, who finished 12th overall in a time of 14:30.

Both girls earned spots on the All Conference team for their efforts.

Audrey Kinne was 17th in 15:06; Melissa Furnish was 20th in 15:19; Courtney Pedraza was 24th in a time of 15:43; Adeli Kinne was 28th in a time of 16:09; and Anna Roberts was 43rd in 19:03.
