Middle School boys track team wins big

The boys track team from Switzerland County Middle School picked up a big win on Monday, defeating Milan by a score of 75-22 in a dual meet.

Results included:

– In the 110-meter hurdles: Nick Braun finished first with a time of :19.33.

– In the 100-meter dash: Brody Splain finished first in a time of :12.29; and Tristan Griffis finished second.

– In the 1,600-meter run: Leon Kinne finished first in a time of 6:21.

– In the 400-meter dash: Hunter Hayes finished first in a time of 1:06; and Nick Braun finished second.

– In the 800-meter run: Jordan Lay finished first in a time of 2:30.

– In the 200-meter dash: Brody Splain finished first in a time of :26.58; Tristan Griffis was second; and Justin Chatham finished third.

– In the discus: Kyle Whitham finished first with a distance of 87′ 7″; and Devin Harris finished third.

– In the shot put: Cory Proffitt finished first with a distance of 31′ 7″.

– In the long jump: Hunter Hayes finished first with a distance of 15′ 6″; and Leon Kinne finished third.

– In the high jump: Hunter Hayes finished first with a height of 5′ 2″; and Brody Splain finished second.

– The 400-meter relay team of Tristan Griffis, Jordan Lay, Justin Chatham and Brody Splain finished first with a time of :52.38.

– The 1,600-meter relay team of Leon Kinne, Nathan Braun, Cory Proffitt and Hunter Hayes finished first.

The team returns to action tonight (Thursday) when it travels to Madison for a meet beginning at 4:30 p.m.
