After more than two and a half years, Ohio County veterans will dedicate the riverfront memorial.
Ohio County Veterans Officer Bill Parks has scheduled the official dedication for 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 4th.

Bricks are for sale at the memorial. There are sections for military and family.
Commissioner Connie Brown, council president Tammy Elbright and Economic Development Director Lane Siekman will be among those speaking. They will be joined by State Rep. Randy Frye, Sen. Chip Perfect, a representative of Senator Joe Donnely’s office and Mayor Brent Bascom. Amy (Hamilton) Hochstrasser will be performing.
American Legion Post #59 Commander Roger Jones will emcee the event. The post’s color guard, women’s auxiliary and Sons of American Legion will take part.
The brick laying was being finalized Monday evening. The monuments were expected to be escorted into town by the American Legion Riders on Wednesday.
