Ohio County Veterans Officer Bill Parks was emcee of the 2017 Memorial Day Service on the Ohio County Courthouse lawn.

Mark Morton played the bagpipes.

Chaplain KC Snyder gave the opening and closing prayer.

Gary Copeland sang the National anthem

Parks led the crowd in the pledge of allegiance.

Ralph Perry served in the U.S.Army from 1950-53 during the Korean conflict as part of an all black engineering company

The RSHS band played selection prior to Brett Bondurant talking about Memorial Day

He closed with a quote from General Patton: It is foolish to mourn the men who die rather we should thank God that such men lived.

Bailee Bostic sang God Bless the USA.

Roger Hilligoss announced the deceased during the past year including: Wayne Caplinger, Wayne Ashcraft, Harry Gibson Jr., Marvin Phelps, Albert Smallwood, William Chase, Don Burris, Christopher Scarber, Bernard Housemeyer, Billy Bovard, George Caseltine and Denny Carrigsn.

The American Legion Post #59 color guard gave the 21 gun salute
