    Jayden McAlister was named valedictorian and Kasey Baker salutatorian at the 2018 Rising Sun High School Awards  Program on Thursday, May 31st.

Jayden McAlister was named valedictorian and Kasey Baker salutatorian at the 2018 Rising Sun High School Awards  Program on Thursday, May 31st.

The two led the 46 member class in graduation ceremonies on Sunday, June 3. A total amount $770,150  in scholarships was presented (does not including the Lilly winner and 21st Century Scholar) which brings the total to over two million dollars.

McAlister will be going to Depauw University and was recipient of the Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship.

Ivy Tech president Mark Graver greets Christian Fisk as one of 14 graduates earning dual credits. Fisk is headed to Valparaiso University where he will receive $48,000 each year in addition to his 21st century scholar scholarship.

Steven Adamson received the NKU Excellence Award of $24,000 over four years.

Chelsea Brown received Katherine Stewart Book Fund from NKU for cost of books.

Sarah Camden received Commonwealth Scholarship from NKU for $1500.

Lucy Carrigan will be playing basketball at Thomas More College.

Christian Fisk received scholarships of $48,000 per year to Valparaiso University.

Alexander Gilb received Horizon Grant from University of Indianapolis for $8000 per semester.

Tiara Harrison received IUPUI Academic Excellence Scholarship of $3000.

Trevor Levi received Trustee Scholarship of $64,000 over four years and the Sister Mary Lea Scholarship of $2000 from Mount St. Joseph University where he will run cross country and track.

Andrew Lewis received the NKU Excellence Scholarship of $4500.

Colton McKay received the Rose Hulman Merit Scholarship of $6750.

Mg Slack received the Indiana Bicentennial Scholarship of $2500 per year from Indiana University.

Caroline Stapleton received the Purdue Marquis Scholarship of $4000 per year.

Brent Turner will receive $44,000 in academic scholarships over four years from Huntington University plus $34,000 for an athletic scholarship to play baseball.

Anna Uhlmansiek received the Hendricks Scholarship from Hanover College of $84,000 over four years.

Ashley Wegford received the Thomas More College Dean Scholarship of $23,000.

Anna Castro was recognized as exchange student from Brazil.

Military Enlistments

Emma Hoffman has enlisted in the U.S. Army, Kendra Stonefield has enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps. Jaydin Parsons and Kiersten Pruiett enlisted in the U.S. Army National Guard. They will wear a red white and blue sash at graduation.
