earn Vevay Media Group championships

The Switzerland County Middle School girls and boys track teams earned championships on Friday night of the Vevay Media Group Invitational.
In the girls meet, the Lady Pacers won with a total of 65 1/2 points; outdistancing second place Rising Sun (42 1/2 points); third place Southwestern (41 points) and fourth place Jac-Cen-Del (35 points).
Individually, Switzerland County earned just one first place, as McKenli Scudder won the long jump with a distance of 14' 3 3/4"; but the team's depth in picking up points in nearly every event earned them the title.
Second place points were earned by Emma Giglio in the high jump and the 100-meter hurdles; Hailey Gerster in the shot put; McKenli Scudder in the 100-meter dash; Leah Anders in the 1,600-meter run; Maggie Clayton on the 400-meter dash; and Keirstan Oeffinger in the 800-meter run.
The 400-meter relay team of Leah Anders, McKenli Scudder, Sydney Thomas, and Emma Giglio finished second; as did the 1,600-meter relay team of Leah Anders, Calleigh Powell, Zoe Cole, and McKenli Scudder.
Third places were earned by Keirstan Oeffinger in the 800-meter run; Leah Anders in the 800-meter run; and McKenli Scudder in the 200-meter dash.
Earning fourth place was Aleiah Thomas in the high jump; Leila Day in the 100-meter dash; and Ariel Oeffinger in the discus; and Rylee Hankins in the long jump.
Fifth places were earned by Korah Ferguson in the shot put; Emerson Schroer in the 100-meter hurdles; Leila Day in the 400-meter dash; Abby Dayadharum in the discus; and Brianna Vinup in the 200-meter dash.
In the boys invitational, Switzerland County earned the win with a team total of 68 points. Southwestern was second with 51 points; followed by Jac-Cen-Del with 38 points; and Rising Sun finished with 15 points.
Keegan Morris controlled the meet for the Pacers, winning the 100-meter dash in a time of :12.31; the 200-meter dash in a time of :25.1; and he was part of the winning 400-meter relay team along with Mikey Gatto, Austin South, and Justin Chatham.
Other blue ribbons for the Pacers were earned by Eyan Peelman in the discus with a distance of 101' 5 1/2"; and Max Anders won the high jump with a height of 5'5".
Second places were earned by Mikey Gatto in the 110-meter hurdles and the long jump; Austin South in the high jump; and the 1,600-meter relay team of Bailey Bennett, Mikey Gatto, Austin South, and Damien Breeck.
Third place points were awarded to Justin Chatham in the 100-meter dash and the 200-meter dash; Bailey Bennett in the 400-meter dash; and Kyle Whitham in the discus and the shot put.
Aaron Scudder was fourth in the 1,600-meter run; Austin South was fourth in the long jump; Damien Breeck was fourth in the 400-meter dash; Doug Pedraza was fifth in the 1,600-meter run; and Caden Hankins was fifth in the 800-meter run.
