4/11/2013 3:00:00 PM Pacer track team wins three-way meet at Jac-Cen-Del
The Switzerland County boys varsity track team traveled to Jac-Cen-Del High School last Thursday night to compete in a three-way meet with the Eagles and Rising Sun.
The Pacers won the meet with a team score of 68; followed by Rising Sun with a score of 60 and Jac-Cen-Del with a score of 29.
Clint Swanson led the Pacers with three first places on the night, winning the 100-meter dash in a time of :11.15 (a personal best); the 200-meter dash in a time of :23.3; and partnered with Zack Rodgers, Ben Curran, and Chase Richards to win the 400-meter relay in a time of :47.6.
T.J. White and Braden Burk each claimed two first places; with T.J. White winning the 400-meter dash in a time of :55.5; and Braden Burk won the 1,600-meter run in a time of 5:07. The duo also combined with Talen Taylor and Dakota Taylor to win the 3,200-meter relay in a time of 9:19.
Zack Rodgers had a personal best distance of 134' 1" to win the discus competition.
Second place points were earned by Talen Taylor in the 3,200-meter run and the 1,600-meter run; Ben Curran in the 300-meter intermediate hurdles and the 110-meter high hurdles; T.J. White in the long jump; Clint Swanson in the high jump; Bradley Cox in the shot put; and the 1,600-meter relay team of T.J. White, Braden Burk, Dakota Taylor, and Zak Park.
Earning third places were Zack Rodgers in the 200-meter dash and the long jump; Dakota Taylor in the 110-meter high hurdles; and Michael Savage in the shot put.
Fourth places were earned by Dakota Taylor in the 300-meter intermediate hurdles and Ben Curran in the high jump.
