Tapps Ridge

Hello, friends.

Well, friends, I better write a fw lines before we get way behind.

First, we want to say sympathy to the families of Nelson Turner and Jim Williams. Nelson grew up on the ridge and he would remind me that I was the meanest kid on Tapps Ridge. Well, I guess everyone has to be good at something.

Mary Jo Meyer had a heart catherization. Everything turned out to be okay. Great news for Mary Jo.

Mary Jo Meyer's daughter-in-oaw is very sick. We want everyone to keep her family in your prayers.

Carol and I went to visit her brother, Steve Kelly, before he had shoulder surgery. He came through the surgery okay but is still in a lot of pain. I think he is more upset that he can't do anything without asking for help.

Ed, Jack, Ethan and I went to wrestling at Shawe High School. One of the wrestlers gave Ethan his sunglasses. He was so happy he would't take them off for a couple of days.

Carol, Nancy Kozlowski, and Joann Schaub enjoyed lunch at Longhorn Steakhouse. Joann met them after leaving her grandbabies house in Blue Ash. She said they all gave her chocolate kisses.

Ashley Kelly and Colton Carpenter and friend Alen spent a few days with her dad, Steve and Kelly. They live in Jacksonville, Florida. Ashley will graduate in May from nursing school.

It has been a busy spring break for Ethan and Jack. Monday, Mandy, Ethan and Jack, L8z, Dr, Cash, Sami and Lily went to the aquarium. They went to Chuck E. Cheese on Tuesday. Wednesday Carol and I took them to the mall. Ed, Mandy and the boys went to French Lick to a water park there. They had a good week. They also went to the circus. Jennifer McFadden, Emily and Taylor also went to French Lick water park.

We were at Sam's one day last week and ran into Jeri McMath. we were so surprised to see her. She said that her mother passed away and they were having a memorial for her the next day. Sympathy to her and her family. We miss Jeri and Jack so much. they were great neighbors.

Jeana Rayles attended a band concert with the school and received a gold and silver medal.

It was a success. Doris Chase helped them Sunday gather up the remaining stuff that didn't sell and they took it to Goodwill.

Carol, Ed and I went to Indianapolis last week. Ed went to see his surgeon and to another doctor too. He is back to work and has been for a while. He goes back in six weeks to his surgeon.

Carol and I took Phyllis Kelly and went to the new casino in Monroe, Ohio. It is a nice casino. We had a nice day until we hit rush hour traffic.

Sara Rodgers and Barb Miller hosted a baby shower for Rachel (Rodgers) Miller. It was held at Riverview Baptist Church. It was a packed downstairs. Rachel Received many nice gifts. Rachel has since made it home safely. Rachel and Chris's baby is due in June.

Carol and I attended the R.E.M.C. annual meeting in Osgood. It was a rainy cole day. The meeting was good and there was a packed house - standing room only. Carol had a nice visit with Mary Jewell. Mary usedto take care of Mildred Scott. There were quite a few people there from Switzerland County.

"Our flag does not fly

Because the wind moves it

It flies with the last breath

Of each soldier who's

Died protecting it."

Sympathy to the Larry Parnell family.

Betty Peters Drew called. She and Dale are doing okay. Betty has gone to visit her daughter Kathy and grandchildren. Brother Bill called her and wanted her to tell me I was writing the news as often as I should. Bill, I will try to do better.

Jane and Dan Geren were in Vevay for a few days so we missed you. We will get together in June.

Tammy Johns told Carol at chuch Sunday about the Quilt Fest in Rising Sun. Carol and Ethan decided to take it in. She said it was very good. A beautiful display of hard work. Even Ethan enjoyed it. They saw Clif Thies. He told Carol his mom was doing okay. Carol said she saw Martha Bladen and she asked her about Steve. He will soon be moved to a Cincinnati hospital. Keep him in prayer.

Violet Kelly, Sonny Anders and Martha Bladen had their crafts on display.

After the show Carol took Ethan to the park on the river. They took our new dog Bella for a walk. She was a hit, people even take pictures of her. she is a handful and I think we are too old for a puppy.

Well, that is all I have for now. Just wanted to let you know the coffee pot is still on. So until next time, take care.
