Sunday, June 16th, Ivan and Dollie Green met Fred, Charla, Drew, Alli, and Sam Azbell at Frisch's in Greensburg to celebrate Father's Day. Billie Green and Dollie Green spent Thursday, June 20th, in Madison on business and did some shopping. While they were eating at Wendy's they saw Gary Duvall and had a nice visit talking about earlier Patriot days. Ivan and Dollie Green met KayLee Crabtree in Vevay Friday morning, June 21st, to get Elijah Green for the weekend while his mom and dad spent the weekend in Northern Indiana camping with some family. Galen and Billie Green and Ivan and Dollie Green ate at Subway in Kentucky on Saturday evening.
Patriot's annual 4th of July is coming. The theme this year will be honoring Veterans. Darrell Hansel will be the Grand Marshal of the parade. The parade line up will be from 9 a.m.-11 a.m. at the Patriot Boat Ramp and the parade will start at 11 a.m. After the parade there will be a ceremony at the Patriot Memorial Park. Then there will be a dinner at Harris Memorial Park. The town will have games at the park for children. Please come and celebrate with our town.
There are a lot of events happening at the Patriot Boat Ramp. The Shelter house is always available for rent. The fee is $20 and $5 extra for electricity. If you would like to reserve the shelter house you can contact one of the boat ramp managers; George Miller- (812)290-4006, Wanda Benzing-594-9337, Jerry Turner-812-290-7140. They operate under the park board of Switzerland County. On July 13th Robbie Cunningham will be having a benefit for Kevin O'Conner at the Shelter. On July 20th the Historic Auto Club will be having lunch at the shelter and displaying their antique cars. They welcome everyone to come and view theirs cars around 1 p.m. On August 11th the Cincy Bass Club will be having a fishing tournament at the Boat Ramp. On September 13th-14th the Ohio River Paddlers will launch approximately 100 canoes and kayaks from the boat ramp. They will paddle to Warsaw, Kentucky and spend the night. The Posey Pioneers 4-H group had a fishing day on Saturday, June 22nd, at the farm of Norman Peters. Those in attendance were Ethan Hussong, Sam Schroer, Kassidy, Emily, and Liz Widner, Allison, Alisha, and Amber Detmer, and Rachel Hensley. They enjoyed lunch afterwards and fun was had by all.
