Hello and Happy New Year to Bob and Jean Linkmeyer and Virgil and Sandra Copeland out in Arizona from your Switzerland County friends.
I got a nice surprise call from Debbie Scudder Mitan sending Christmas greetings to all her friends here. Debbie lives in North Carolina and says she is doing well. Bryan and his wife and little boy live nearby and Andrea lives a little farther away and they are all doing w ell. Hi Debbie and all.
Dale Thompson called from North Vernon to say his friend Jim McCreary said he had a sister-in-law, Barbara Chase McCreary and wondered if I knew her. Yes, Barbara is also my sister-in-law who lives in Greendale married to Bill McCreary. Bill and Jim's sister, Wilma Carr, of Morgantown just passed away. I don't know that part of the family but it was nice to talk to Jim on the phone. I guess family names always come up at funeral and visitations and we are surprised to find out who is related. Sympathy to Wilma's family.
I just heard on the news that the little boy who wanted to break the Christmas card record before he died did break the record. He died a day or two ago. His name was Dalton Dingus. Our church and many in the area supported that event. Sympathy goes out to the family.
Sympathy also to the Roy Darnold family. Janet is a good friend. Also, Gretta Bromwell family and Don McClure family.
Get well to Lana Kelley, Teresa Miller, Corinne Martin, Sharon and Paul Ballard, many others and all with the flu.

They had a full house, a good time and missed the five who couldn't be there. Winnie and family send Happy Birthday wishes for Rick Woolums big 60.

Corinne Martin, Glenda Sullivan, Patty Chase, Sharon Ballard and Valarie Bennett represented the Florence Station of the East Enterprise Volunteer Fire Department Christmas dinner and meeting Saturday night at the East Enterprise Station. Jeff Darling gave a good speech praising all the volunteers for a great job and for overcoming obstacles and moving on. They deserve all the praise they can get. Gary Lee and Kim Hambrick prepared another fine dinner. Door prizes were given out. (I didn't win.) It was a good evening. The next ladies meeting will be February 11th at 7 p.m. at the East Enterprise Station. Come and join this good group of ladies.
