The Sidewinders 4-H Club hosted the Arts and Crafts, etc., show at the Community Building Saturday and Sunday and did a wonderful job. Angela Splain and Trina Hart were in charge and had great helpers. The homemade crafts were so pretty and some unusual ones. I bought myself a beautiful wreath. (I also bought lots of jelly bellies from Ethan Austin's booth.) they had homemade soup that hit the spot. It was a great show and had lots of door prizes. It was a great event thanks to all the hard workers. Tim Shakleford from Warsaw, formerly of Vevay, had a booth with unusual jewelry and said he is in clothing fashions and is doing well.

The Florence Church of Christ had a really good afternoon Sunday with a delicious carry-in holiday dinner and lots of friends to share it with.

Saturday, December 1st, Ariel Brogan went to the Derby Dinner Playhouse for her 5th birthday (12-3). The play was a "Fairy Tale Christmas." Ariel was spotlighted and her name announced during the show. She got to meet and have pictures taken with Cinderella and Snow White after the show. She had cake and ice cream served to her and guests. She received balloons and opened her gifts. Her guests were her dad, Zachary Brogan, aunts Andrea Brogan and Alicia Fritter and uncle Lewis Fritter, grandparents James and Rita Brogan and her friends Stacy and Kaylee Redwine, Shane, Cody and Silas Applegate. Also Santa and Mrs. Claus came around and talked to everyone. Happy birthday, Ariel.

Denny and Diana Brown want to thank Rita Sullivan for staying with Denny while Diana went to town to get groceries and thanks for the sandwich from Subway. Denny and Rita had a relaxing and fun time sharing stories about their grandpaw, Jimmy Brown and Josie and Jimbo Brown when they lived along Indian Creek just below Mount Sterling. Their other company was Angie Handlon, Judy Bailey, Jaxen Kelly and Audrey Marsh.

Faye Lewis' company last week was Mark Scott, Ron and Jean Sandidge, Carol Ann Swinney, Sarah Headen, Judy Amos, Audrey Marsh, Robin Lawson, Nora Gross, Evelyn Smith and Glenda Sullivan. Faye went to the surprise 50th birthday party for Joanna Sawalich given by her family and church family at the Jack Sullivan Senior Center. Happy birthday, Joanna.

Tom Shelton will be in concert at the Florence Church of Christ in Florence, Indiana. Over the last 30 years gospel musician Thomas Shelton has shared his God given talent with thousands. An Indiana native, he was raised in a devout Christian home. In 1977, he was inducted into "Who's Who in American Music." In June that same year he joined the touring group, "General Delivery USA." Since then he has traveled as the lead singer for the "Gospelites" of Dobbins, California, as well as a tenor with the "Watchmen" of "Operation Evangelize." He and his wife Shannon spent two years in the Caribbean and in South America as cruise directors for "New Creation World Wide Christian Cruises." He has served in four separate congregations in the development of music and youth programs. His ministry has taken him to all 50 states of the U.S. as well as 11 other countries. Now as a soloist you can hear Thomas Shelton in concert at the Florence Church of Christ Thursday, December 13th.
