The Switzerland County High School Gym was the place to be Sunday afternoon for the welcome home and honoring the Vietnam veterans. It was long overdue. I know Rita Sullivan is not going to take credit for planning the event but she did a wonderful program with the help of the Vevay V.F.W. and Vevay American Legion and other veterans and friends. The Vietnam veterans and all veterans deserve all the praise they get. After the program there was a helicopter to see and they were taking the veterans and families on a short ride. It was good to see so many families getting together. The VFW and American Legion had plenty of good food for everyone after the service. It was a great day.

The Hoosier Theater will present the "Ladies for Liberty" patriotic musical Saturday, November 17th, at 7 p.m. for all veterans, families and friends to enjoy. It is sponsored by the VFW and American Legion.

The election is over and let's hope it works out well for our future. Just have faith and keep on keeping on. The election board had a really good time working together and like the procedure. We had lots of good food brought in but did miss the delicious angel food cake by Sue Turner and the butterscotch pie by Geneva Robinson that we had in the spring. The songs by K. C. kind of made up for that. We missed Kim Hambrick too and hope she is recovering well. Keep her in your prayers.

I saw a few mistakes in the Florence news last week. Kim was spelled with a J, Molli, Jerilyn and Logann were wrong. Just typos. It was a busy week for everyone. Sorry.

The Ladies of the V.F.W. and American Legion auxiliaries presented their ceremony for Elmo Bailey's visitation. Elmo was a fine lady, a good friend and will be missed. Sympathy to her family.

Buster and Joy Gregory, Steve Auxier and family, Suzi Bovard, Sherri Whitham and Scott and Ronnie Gregory attended the funeral service for Mary Hazel Gregory Abrams of Middletown, Ohio. Buster is the only one of that family still living. Sympathy to all the family and hope I didn't miss anyone.

Lorraine Brown returned from a nice visit with her mom, Zella Wiltz, and brother Floyd and family in Modesto, California. Randy and Ryan took good care of mom too. Gail Ann Clements, Kay O'Neal, Lisa Reed, Randy and Ryan Brown and Cheryl Messmore visited mom last week. Linda Harrell, Cheryl and Mom attended the Vietnam celebration Sunday. Cheryl spent the weekend with mom and visited several friends in the area. Margaret Lee visited Millie Coy and Dutchie Scholl.

Judy Amos, Patty Chase, Jean Sandidge, Robin Lawson, Mary Pohlman, Evelyn Smith, Nora Gross and Glenda Sullivan visited Faye Lewis last week. Glenda took Faye to her appointment in Madison Monday and took Nora Gross on Tuesday. Sarah Headen went to bring Nora home after she finished her treatment. Keep Nora in your prayers.

Jack and Judy Bailey, Jaxen Kelly, Maysen Kelley, Shawn Auxier, Anelisa Auxier, Angie Handlon, Audrey Marsh and Herman Wallenboarger all enjoyed their visit with Denny and Diana Brown last week.

Charles and Alberta Pickett had breakfast at A.J.'s with Kenny Clements and had a nice visit with Emmett and Nell Jaynes and Mary Nell Jaynea and others from Anderson.

Casey and Sheila Rininger, Alberta Pickett and others went to the bowling Olympics last weekend down near Clarksville to cheer Tiffany Rininger on. David Wentworth, Chrissy Albright, Erin Schmitt and their families were there too. Congratulations to all the kids for their good scores.

Denny and Mary Lou Bowman went to Batesville for granddaughter Sydney's birthday party. Happy Birthday, Sydney,.

Happy birthday also to Carolyn Lowe, Pete Lowe, Richard Sullivan, Gladys Bond, Linda Jones, Lee Ann Bush, Clyde Poling and all other November birthdays and a birthday remembrance of my sister and Denny's mother Donna Jewell Bowman.

Get well prayers and thoughts for Ray and Virginia Bear, David Beatty, Kim Hambrick, Mary Lou Chase, Jerilyn Van Winkle, Louis Peelman, Don Voris, Dana Einhaus, Ruth Lohide, Paul Ballard, Joann Scott, Gary Purnell and others.

Bonnie Robinson and Traci Hiles went to Fairborn, Ohio for the funeral service for Mark Pence's mother Rosalie Pence. Sympathy to the family.

A belated sympathy expression for the Ralph Huff family.
