Greetings from Florence. The weather is wonderful.
The Hoosier Theater will present "An Encounter with Mark Twain" Saturday, September 22nd, at 7 p.m. and Sunday afternoon, September 23rd, at 2 p.m.
The Ogle Park, motel parking lots, restaurant parking lots and many other places in the town of Vevay were full of beautiful old cars in for the car show. They really lit up the area. Mike Bear, Floyd Canada and others did a great job with the show. I've heard a lot of good comments about it.
Switzer Square had a really good homemade ice cream and cake party in their recreation room last Tuesday night. Many enjoyed it and had a good time. Thanks to the board members and Moorefield Fire Department.
Denny Bowman, Roy and Bonnie Duckworth and Eddie Gregory visited Patty Chase one evening to help with some chores and set the scanner antenna back up that the storm tore down last week. The storm did some damage to trees and knocked out the electricity in a small area that night. Patty had a nice visit with Angie Chase Thursday. She came to do the weed eating while Rod mowed the yard. They do a good job. Thanks.
I need to make a correction. It was Dale Patterson who sat on the porch with Richard Adams and Estal Lozier drinking root beer and iced tea in the hot weather instead of Roy Lee. Oops.
Several ladies of the East Enterperise/Florence Fire Department had a good meeting at the Florence Station Monday evening to plan the upcoming Halloween hayride, Christmas with Santa and other events. The next meeting will be in October at the East Enterprise station. We need your help. Come join us. We have fun.

It's bowling time again. The Tuesday night ladies still have room for more ladies.

Here's a little humor. Adam was walking around the Garden of Eden feeling very lonely so God asked "Adam what's wrong with you?" Adam said he didn't have anyone to talk to. God said he was going to give him a companion and it would be a woman. He said this person will cook for you and wash your clothes. She will always agree with every decision you make. She will bear your children and never ask you to get up in the middle of the night to take care of them. She will not nag you and always be the first to admit she was wrong when you have a disagreement. She will never have a headache and will freely give you love and compassion whenever needed. Adam asked, "How much would this woman cost?" God said, "An arm and a leg." Adam said, "What can I get for just a rib?"
