George M. Miller, Sr., 69, of Vevay, passed away at 3:50 p.m. Monday, December 24th, 2012, at the home of his daughter near Pleasant.

Anna Buchanan Powell, 83, of Rising Sun, passed away Thursday, December 20th, 2012, at her home.
She was born January 19th, 1921, the youngest daughter of John and Pearl Cochran Buchanan. Her youth was spent on the family farm on Miller Brick Hill near Rising Sun.
Her life was spent as a nurse/companion and she spent many years in the homes of others as she cared for them. She lived near East Enterprise for several years, caring for Walter and Willetta Washmuth and attended the New Liberty Church.
On retiring, she returned to Rising Sun and was a member of Rising Sun First Baptist Church where she was active as long as her health allowed. She enjoyed the Rising Sun Meal Site and her friends there and the activities provided.
Surviving are three nieces, Betty Taylor and Peggy Turner, both of Rising Sun, and Mary Skirvin of Indianapolis; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 29th, at 10:30 a.m. in Humphrey-Taylor-Detmer Funeral Home in Rising Sun with burial in Rising Sun Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday, December 28th, from 6-9 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the Rising Sun First Baptist Church.
Sheila F. Bliton Morris, 67, of Madison, passed away at 10 p.m. Tuesday, December 18th, 2012, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.
She was born September 23rd, 1945, in Madison, the loving daughter of the late Faye Wesley "Dude" and Dorothy L. Pelsor Bliton. She was a 1963 graduate of Madison Consolidated High School and later attended secretarial school in Napoleon, Indiana. She sold Avon for years and was a homemaker to her family. She was a member of the home economics club in Columbus and a den mother for the Cub Scouts. She enjoyed folk art, flower gardening and snimals. She always enjoyed the Madison Chautauqua and the Madison Tour of Homes. In her spare time she liked to watch the Indianapolis Colts and the Cincinnati Reds, spend time with her five grandchildren; and enjoy her Shih Tzu babies.
She was united in marriage to Gary Morris on December 3rd, 1966, in Madison. Unto this union one son Rodney and one daughter Michelle arrived to bless their home.
Survivors include her loving husband, Gary Morris of Madison; her son, Rodney Morris and wife Rae Jean of Madison; her daughter, Michelle Myers of Columbus; her five grandchildren, Megan Morris, Jackson Morris, Nicole Marshall, Taylor Marshall and Eric Myers; her sister, Barbara Lock of Vevay; her cousins, Rita Atkins of Detroit, Michigan, Buddy Pelsor of Lexington, Kentucky, Norman Knudson of Holton, Indiana, and Delbert Knudson of Holton; her sisters-in-law, Norma Faye Bliton of Madison, Pat Rolf and husband James of Osgood; her aunt, Violet Pelsor of Charlestown, Indiana; several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Garnett O. Bliton and Daniel Bliton; her niece, Dottie Sue Bliton; and her nephew, James Daniel Bliton.
Funeral services were conducted by Reverend Mike Hamby Saturday, December 22nd, at Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre in Madison. Interment was in Fairmount Cemetery in Madison. Belvadean (Reeves) Andrew, 90, of Vevay, passed away at 9:20 a.m. Wednesday, December 19th, 2012, at King's Daughters' Hospital in Madison.
She was born August 7th, 1922, in Markland, the loving daughter of the late Elmer and Ethel (Brooks) Reeves. She was raised in Vevay where she was a 1940 graduate of Vevay high School.
She was united in marriage on February 9th, 1947, in Jeffersonville, Indiana, to Paul Lee Andrew. Unto this union one son and one daughter arrived to bless their home. Belvadean and Paul shared 47 years of marriage together until his death on February 23rd, 1994.
She resided most of her life in Vevay. She was formerly employed as a telephone operator for the Vevay Telephone Company for 10 years. She was a former employee at Danner's Hardware in Vevay as a clerk. She was a member of Ruter Chapel United Methodist Church in Vevay. She will be remembered for her love of gardening, working on crafts and being a wonderful homemaker. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Survivors include her son, Giles L. Andrew and companion Jennifer Conder of Vevay; her daughter, Tonya Krall and husband Mike of Vevay; her two grandchildren, Kodi McAlister and husband Dan and Kalessa Archer; her two great-grandchildren, Lainie and Landen McAlister; her two step-great-grandchildren, Jake Krall and Lindsay Lee; her step-great-granddaughter, Maddie.
She was also preceded in death by her brother, Donley Reeves on January 17th, 1974; and her half sister, Carmen Ader.
A memorial service was conducted by Pastor Pat Lanman Saturday, December 22nd, at Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home in Vevay. Interment was in Vevay Cemetery. Gladys (Bolden) Bond, of Bedford, Kentucky, formerly of Vevay, passed away in Bedford at 9:32 a.m. Sunday, December 23rd, 2012.
She was born November 11th, in Florence, Indiana, the loving daugher of Vernon E. and Leona M. (Vahlsing) Bolden. She was raised in Markland and Florence. She was formerly employed at the U.S. Shoe Corporation in Vevay for 40 years. She took early retirement to take care of her husband who became ill. After his death she went back to work at U.S. Shoe until the factory closed. She was formerly employed at Swiss Villa Nursing & Rehabilitation Center as a housekeeper in Vevay, a job she loved to do, for seven years. She was a member of the Mount Sterling Baptist Church and attended Corn Creek Baptist Church in Bedford. She will be remembered for her love of shopping, gardening, reading, keeping a meticulous home and lawn, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister.
She was united in marriage on August 24th, 1949, in Carrollton, Kentucky, to Robert L. "Bobby" Bond. Unto this union two loving daughters arrived to bless their home. They resided in Mount Sterling before moving to Vevay in 1994. Gladys and Bobby shared 47 years of marriage together until his death on December 11th, 1996.
Survivors include her two daughters, Cheryl Stevens and husband Jim of Bedford and Debby Hunter and companion Billy Pate of Carrollton, Kentucky; her two grandchildren, Randy Stevens and Rob Stevens and wife Jenna; her five great-grandchildren, Jace, Evan, Ben, Maggie and Kate Stevens; her two brothers, Danny Bolden of Aurora and Gary "Skip" Bolden and wife Loleta of Tallahassee, Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, Vernon E. Bolden on May 23rd, 1992, and Leona M. (Vahlsing) Bolden on February 1st, 1991; her brother, Charles V. "Chuck" Bolden on June 17th, 1992; her sister, Beverly "Inky" Jackson on September 11th, 2006; and her son-in-law, Hubert D. Hunter on March 5th, 1991.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, December 28th, by Reverends Mike Sawalich and Peter Phillips at Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home in Vevay. Interment will be in Vevay Cemetery.
