6/5/2014 3:00:00 PM History made: Pacers win All Sports Trophy
For the first time in school history, the athletes of Switzerland County High School have earned the combined All Sports Trophy awarded by the Ohio River Valley Conference.
Throughout all three sports seasons, a running tally is kept for the sports programs for each school: girls sports and boys sports. At The end of Spring sports, the conference awards an overall girls All Sports Championship; an overall boys All Sports Championship; and then both numbers are added together, and a combined All Sports Champion is crowned.
Switzerland County High School athletic director David Todd has set as a goal for the school to win the All Sports championship; and that goal was realized after an outstanding spring sports season combined with tremendous fall and winter sports.
The Lady Pacers won the girls All Sports Championship with a point total of 58. Southwestern was second with 52; followed by Jac-Cen-Del with 46; Rising Sun with 43; South Ripley with 29; Milan with 20; and Madison Shawe with 12.
