Find that ugly Christmas sweater
The Switzerland County Tourism staff encourages locals and visitors to begin their search for the "ultimate in ugly" - the most tacky and ugly Christmas sweater, that is.
Participants are invited to "don us now in bad apparel" for tourism's 'Ugly Christmas Sweater Contest'.
The event will be held at the Switzerland County Visitors Center during Vevay Main Street's "Deck the Walls" First Friday, which will be held tomorrow (Friday).
'First Friday' takes place from 6-9 p.m. in downtown Vevay.
New or used, sweaters can be purchased, handmade or altered from an existing garment. The contest is open to youth and adults, men and women, with participants encouraged to check out yard sales, vintage shops, online, or those storage boxes hidden in the back of closets for their tackiest and most embarrassing holiday garb.
Prizes will be awarded in the following categories: All-around Ugliest; Most Festive,; and Most Likely to be Avoided at the Annual Christmas Party.
Participants are encouraged to accessorize with their craziest Christmas hats, plaid pants, ties, wild socks, scarves, and mittens. Judging will begin at 8 p.m. at the Visitors Center.
For more information, contact the Switzerland County Visitors Center at 427-3237.
