The Community Art Center welcomes Lillie Wingham as the featured artist for July.
Meet and visit with Lillie on First Friday, tomorrow night (July 1st) from 6-8 p.m.
Lillie was born in Dupont, Indiana and has lived in the Madison area her entire life. She is married to Tommy, has four children and took her first painting lesson at age 40. She continues to study and learn through books, tapes and other artist. Lillie says she has not put down the brush since she started painting.
Madison has featured her in two one-woman art shows. Her painting of the “Delta Queen” is printed in the book, “Beloved Madison”. Her work has been at the Franklin Art Gallery, Franklin, Indiana and Indianapolis, Indiana. She has painting is France, England, Japan and collections in Madison and Cincinnati. She has done commissions as well as portraits, but her love is still life and landscapes.
Meet Lillie on July 1st, but come to the Art Center during July and see her art. Open hours are Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, noon to 4 p.m. and Friday and Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. by chance.
