The 2018 Light Up Ohio County winners were judged last week with the following results.
The contest was sponsored by the Rising Sun/Ohio County Tourism through grants from the city of Rising Sun and Ohio County Community Foundation.
The $250 first place prize went to 121 N. High St. The home of Mark Abplanalp was runner-up a year ago.
Branden Cappel’s residence at 7669 SR 56 W was second and earned $175. The display includes tuning into 87.9 FM to hear music synchronized music.
Third place award of $100 went to the home of Brian Gregory at 600 S. Walnut. Street and includes music and video displays.
The judges chose a pair of runner-ups. The home of Norman Wallick at 116 N. High St. (across from the winning selection) and 6677 Taylor Road.
There were 15 homes that entered the contest but many more decorated homes can be found around the county.
