License plates

To the Editor:

Part of the work and service of the Switzerland County Historical Society is to answer a variety of requests we receive through the mail. Our most common inquiry is for genealogy research, and we often get letters from Fourth Grade children throughout the state as they study Indiana history. We just received a request that we are hoping someone in the county can help us with. Here is the letter.

I am writing with a request for a 1979 Indiana license plate from your county, (#78). I am an Iraq War disabled Marine using my recovery time to build a collection of plates from each county. Switzerland County is really hard to come by and I would appreciate any assistance. I can pay $5 plus mailing costs. I have 81 of the counties so far. Your neighbor county, Ohio #58 is also a tough find. Thank you for any help. Semper Fi.
