Insurance

To the Editor:

I heard from a good source that the insurance rates for school employees went up drastically. How does this affect our school board? Have they started paying for their health and life insurance, or is it still free to them?

We are probably the only school system in the area to pay for life and health insurance for school board members, which I and many others consider a part time job. Try going anywhere, and getting a part-time job with insurance benefits . . . very hard to do.

I hope the school board takes a hard look at the cost of this insurance. I am sure the taxpayers are doing the same.

Thank you.
