Medical care
To the Editor:
While I agree with last week’s letter that it is unfortunate that Dr. Willage is leaving Vevay, Dr. Frede is not the only other medical provider in the county who can see his patients.
For the past 16 years, the Nurse Managed Clinic has been assisting in meeting the healthcare needs of the residents of Switzerland as well as all the surrounding counties in Indiana and Kentucky. While many residents only think of seeing us when they cannot see their usual provider, I can see nearly anything that a Family Physician can.
We are primarily for uninsured people and have a sliding fee scale based on income but we are accepted by most insurance companies.

Relay rewards
To The Editor:
I recently attended the Relay for Life Leadership Conference in Fort Wayne, Indiana, the weekend of September 23rd-24th.
While I was there, I accepted an award on Switzerland County’s behalf. Our county was given the “All American Relay Award”, which is presented to communities that show exceptional growth, retention, relay branding, diversity, and leadership throughout the year.
Our specific achievement was exceeding our fund-raising goal by collecting $55,000. Congratulations, Switzerland County!
Thanks to everyone who donated in any way this year; it would never happen without your support. The 2011 Relay year ended August 30th, and we are already working on making 2012 our best year ever!
